Oh I am so sorry to hear that about sweet Lucy!
I saw that you would not want to give her chemo, so maybe after she has had time to recover and you see the vet for next steps, you can ask the vet what treatment would be good for her. Be sure to ask a lot of questions- what type of cancer, is it aggressive, what to expect, what are the various treatment options and what is the cost for each one.
With the vaccine, just make sure in the future that you do not let anyone give your kitties a 3-year shot, and you should ask ahead of time if the vet is using Merial Purevax. This is what I do. Most veterinarians who work with cats a lot, use the Merial purevax brand. Also, unless you let your cats outside a lot, or have many cats coming in and out of your house, you normally do not need to give them a shot every year. The newest thinking is that animal vaccines are a lot like people vaccines, they are good for much longer than one year and you only need to do yearly shots if your pet is at risk of exposure to rabies, distemper, and the other illnesses.
