But just to be really different I also like Heavy Metal - like The Doors , Hawkwind Motorhead etc. Also Yes, although I'm not sure that Yes fit into any catagory of music - they are just great.

I am definitely more of an alternative rock fan. In my ipod right now I have bands/artists such as: Maroon5, Butch Walker, American Hi Fi, Linkin Park, Evanescence, Eve 6, SR-71, and Cake. When I'm looking for something a little more mellow I like to listen to Jason Mraz, Gavin DeGraw or Guster.

You should check out Twisted Method. They are amaaaazing, and I am pretty picky about the heavier stuff I listen to. Great CD and GREAT live show (the first time I ever heard of them was Ozzfest and they blew me away... I have seen so many shows that that is extremely hard to do). They are not on this year's Ozzfest, but they were on Ozzfest 2003....Originally Posted by berylayn
I have been to a few shows with him. His best friend is in a metal band and this past weekend I went to a show he was in. And my arm has been twisted to attend Ozzfest with him this summer.I try really hard to like the heavy stuff, and I have learned not to hate it. But I don't think I'll ever make that genre a part of my CD collection.
Glad to hear that.Originally Posted by vespacat
That's why I included that selection in the poll. There are actually a LOT of people who aren't into music. I'm just obsessed.

Have you listened to Butch Walker before? I have been a fan of his for a long while but he's not someone a lot of people have heard of.Originally Posted by musicobsession

Opera - another missed category!Originally Posted by flisssweetpea
I love choral music and some opera - particularly tenors and mezzo-sopranos.
The kids introduce me to today's music as well. My favourites of recent years include Pulp, Blur and Franz Ferdinand. As I said - a very wide taste.
