NIN (and Ministry) were faves back in 1990.
I saw them a few years ago too.. they opened up for RHCP.

What's the best concert you guys have been to?

For me.. besides the Dead (of course), it would be a tie between Johnny Winter and Dream Theater.

You got to see Queens and the Peppers on the same bill?? Lucky dog!!!!!!!!

How can you pick just one "best concert"?
I've only been to 5 "big" shows, and they were all quite different, and quite good. After the first one I wondered how I'd gone so long w/out going to one and when the next one was. lol
I've seen A Perfect Circle (twice, once in an arena and once in a theater), Incubus, Pearl Jam (w/ Neil Young!!) and Marilyn Manson.
My boyfriend has been to MANY shows, though...he's a junkie for them, and he's been taking me along for the past year and a half.

Sorry Matt
Well, Pop and Top40/Chart would cover some of that...

I remember the techno and house from the late 80's/early 90's. Now THAT was a party!

I still really like Moby's "Go!". Actually, I can't believe he's still around!

Something I never knew until I really got into classical music. The scene in The Matrix when Morpheus and Neo are in the Matrix and Morpheus is explaining to Neo how everyone can be an agent, the song that starts as soon as the crossing light changes to "walk," is called Clubbed to Death by Rob D. It's very similar to the begining of the Variations. It made me love the movie even more.

The best concerts/shows I've attended to this point (in no particular order) are:

Kraftwerk (they're freakin' Kraftwerk - that says enough!)
The Ramones (multiple times - best show I went to was in 1990)
Depeche Mode (Violator tour - Nitzer Ebb and The Jesus and Mary Chain opened!)
The Viletones (reunion show - seminal Canadian punk band)
Lollapalooza 92 (how about RHCP, Ministry, Soundgarden AND Pearl Jam among others on one bill!)
The Specials (another amazing reunion show - ska shows are the best!)
The Cramps (my hearing isn't what it was 15 years ago thanks to that show!)
The Doors (with the amazing Ian Astbury as front man - if anyone HAS to step in for Jim Morrison)
Queens of the Stone Age (because Josh Homme is just HOT, and The Distillers opened, which was alright!
)
Matisyahu (a full-on hasidic Jewish guy who plays reggae... with a twist!)

Strangely enough, some of my favourite studio bands are completely retarded live - Oasis comes to mind immediately.

I've also had to opportunity of meeting a few well-known Canadian musicians - I guess just being in the right place at the right time.

I'm guessing you saw the Dead with your dad, and when Jerry Garcia was still alive? I bet that was a good time.

My first big concert was Depeche Mode at MSG.
Poe opened up for them.

Unfortunately no. My dad didn't like the Dead.
So I didn't get into them until I was about 13 or 14 maybe. I've seen them the past 2 years on their summer tours. I would have loved to see them with Jerry!!
I can't wait... I am going to go see Ratdog (Bob Weir's (from the dead) band) in a few weeks.

Yeah, DM were great.
Only saw them once, here in Toronto in 1990, but VERY memorable.

I think any member of the Dead would still put on a great show (minus Jerry - RIP), not to mention they will most definitely have a following.
Have fun! (insert colourful bear smiley here)
