Oh yes indeed. I gave up one of my kitchen drawers (prime real estate in my eyes) to my husband for his receipts. He files taxes as self-employed because of his musician gigs so we have his receipts for EVERYTHING in our tax files going back at least 10 years.

I check to make sure that they cleared properly in my bank (usually 24-48 hours).
Otherwise I don't keep shoe boxes to keep receipts in...they're both in the garbage

lol I wish I did. I have had so many defective items that I couldn't take back because I had no reciept. I actually have thought about just repurchasing the item then putting the broken one back in the box and returning it with hte new reciept. lol

Most returnable item receipts and receipts from paying the bills, yes. Everything else, trash. I don't have the sanity (or insanity depending on your perspective) to hold on to 5000 receipts for a bottle of water at the gas station.
I'm so bad that the glovebox in my truck tries to vomit them out everytime it's opened.
