I just applied for a job at a vet's office. It's for a receptionist/technician, apparently 3/4 receptionist duties and 1/4 light technician duties. I am not really qualified for the technician part as I haven't taken any courses on it, but from the description I have a feeling that it's mostly for things that you don't have to be certified to do. I am really hoping that I at least get an interview, I've applied for receptionist positions as vet's offices before but I've always been overlooked. I'm hoping that I replied to this posting early enough, it was only posted on the 20th. Even if I get the minimum wage posted for the job, I'd still be making almost $5 more an hour than I make now at my fulltime job.
I really want to get out of retail, it's incredibly stressful and every shift I work I hate it more and more. I love my job at NV, but it's only part time. I don't think working at a vet's office would be a conflict of interest because I wouldn't actually be advising clients in regards to pet nutrition.
Applying was a long shot, but if you can all spare some "get an interview" vibes I'd appreciate it!
