I think that's what first attracted me to the books - the names. A friend (in his 50s at the time) got hooked from the first book on, and kept insisting that I'd love them. After he'd forced the third book on me, I read it, and went out the next day and bought the first two. I've pre-ordered since then.Originally Posted by kluchetta
Oh, I really love the books. They are so interesting on so many levels. The names she uses for people and things are all so well thought-out and have a lot of symbolism. I guess that's why kids AND adults like them. The richness of detail interests the adults, and, well, what kid doesn't like magic?
I'm also one of those that would like a wand. (Last night I dreamt that my mom made me a cloak.)

Yeah, does Aslan and Narnia ring a bell? How many adults LOVE those stories and went to see the movie?Originally Posted by urbantigers
But there's no reason at all why adults cant' read a book aimed at children, just as there's no reason why an adult can't enjoy a movie aimed at children.

I prefer most books to their movie adaptations any day. The HP books and Eragon as well. I was suprised I liked Eragon the book, and the 2nd, Eldest, was even better.
