Where do you think?
They shave the front leg to access the vein, kind of makes them look like a half clipped poodle for a while.

When Hector my old cat had her tooth pulled she had both legs shaved so they could put the anesthetic in one and the monitoring device (EKG?) on the other.

Hector was the runt of the litter and she was very small even as an adult so her veins where so tiny they needed to shave her just to find a vein. She also needed smaller needles because of her tiny size.

Hello my dear friends.
Yesterday, our professor answered my questions about Irmik by e-mail. He said that the petrified poop stood like a bridge, allowing passage up to a point, but not allowing it after a certain point. And there was some string in it. He also said that it definitely explains the problem of gastric emptying.
In fact, everything has a place in my mind. I just cant explain the hairball removal surgery and the next 2 to 3 weeks.

Today, Irmik came home. I'm not sure but she looks good. She was fed with dry food for the last 2 days in the hospital and she did not vomit. It hasn't happened so far at home either. She just has some diarrhea due to antibiotics. Keep praying for us :)
Love you all๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ˜ป
Anyone want to see the cat in her new boots?

"Look out city of Paris, and New York,...Irmik the Cat...will be walking down those runways...doing the proper 'catwalk'...and showing the latest fashions...in new style boots".

I'm sure countless needles have been pricked into her front and back legs. She's been through a lot, but I hope we've come to the end.
Her little body survived it all. Cats are indeed very powerful creatures. We should never lose hope, I've learned that.

Hello my lovely friends,
She's getting better day by day. She gained a lot of weight, I feel so good.
We have a problem right now. She burps sometimes. I couldn't understand why, but most of the time it happens about 20 minutes after drinking water. I searched on the internet but there were scary things. What are you thinking?

So glad to here Irmik is improving.

My guess would be that she is lapping the water up too fast.. I do not know how to slow down a fast drinker.

Great update!

I too would agree with artiemom, with either Irmik drinking the water too fast,
swallowing too much air
,
or perhaps something in her food is causing some gas/belching?

Since she is feeling better,..is she also 'grooming her fur' more?
You'll have to make sure she does not have any excess fur, especially in shedding season.
Try different brushes, furminator, or rake brushes for cats,...to get off any loose fur.

Are you still feeding her the i/d food.
If so,...check all the ingredients,...and list any...that could possibly cause the burping.
If you are giving any supplements, or Treats,..check those ingredients, too.
Plus any medications she is on, that might affect her esophagus, or affect the stomach's digestion.

I don't think it would be a 'hiatus hernia'...if cats get those, like people do,...since that would have showed up...on her barium x-ray studies.

Try to experiment, with raising Irmik's water dish, to different levels...either on wood, or boxes, to see if different positions...would help Irmik to swallow easier...and with less air.
(another member's cat, had a issue with swallowing air, but their beautiful cat also had high liver issues, so I'm not sure how the two were related.)

**Video tape these episodes of Irmik burping,...so that you can note the times, and also show the Vet.

Sending more Health Thoughts, and 'Gain Weight Thoughts'...to your beautiful Irmik. :vibes::vibes::gingercat:
I might need to see more of those 'fancy boot photos' of your Irmik, when you have the time.

Hello, everything was going so good until 2 days ago. Because these last 2 days, Irmik has started to do that strange behavior again. 'wall licking'
If you remember, she used to go to lick after she vomited and lick it for minutes as if it was the most delicious thing in the world. Now she does the same in the mornings. I wake up and find her licking the wall like a lollipop. This scares me so much. I don't want to go back to those days.

So Irmik is still burping and 'wall licking'?

Usually licking concrete is a sign of anemia, or that the cat is trying to compensate for a mineral that is lacking.
Unless your wall has other coatings on it, that are somehow attracting her by Smell, or taste.
Even things like condensation, humidity, food cooking smells, etc.

Did her food intake change in any way?
The amount of food she eats is still the same? :greenpaw:

I don't know what people do if their cats have 'pica'...and want to eat things which are not food. :sigh:

She vomited right now.
Oh, no.
I'm going to be hoping that this is a 'new reaction'...and not continuous....like before.

There was such a long stretch of time, with Irmik doing well, and not vomiting.
More than three weeks.
So let's see if her digestive system can settle down, and take a small break,...to not get into that 'whole circle of semi-blockage and vomiting again'.
Fingers crossed here, and hoping for the best. :crossfingers: :vibes::vibes::caticon: ๐Ÿ™:hugs::grouphug:

Oh NO!! ((Hugs)))

Occasional vomiting is ok... but, our imaginations always run wild...((sigh))

Was there any fur in the vomit? or was it like before?
I really have to ask if she is pooping ok? Is Irmik going daily? I think that is a good thing to monitor. and the consistency of it.. Hard, soft, etc.

I wonder if that stone like poop was related to constipation or the beginnings of a motility problem with her bowel. She can get nauseous from it.

If it happens again, I would definitely contact the surgeon, at the the university. That is where you got the most help..

so sorry, ((Hugs))......

:hugs::hugs:
