Now there is a well balanced home! Love it!!! :bigthumb:
OH OH OH :spit: OMG I just saw this NOW!!!!!!!!!!! Your just the best :lol3: Thanks for the laugh and all of the dancing chickens.....
:lol3:
WELL..... Epigen 90 has a lot to do with my vacation plan :bigthumb: I just received the Epigen yesterday AND OMG all the cat's go bonkers for it. They have been practically attacking me to get more of the pellets. Wish they were that way with the raw :frusty: :frusty: Even Perla loves it, thank GOD, because she is the reason I bought that food. All the cats will be starting to eat this at bedtime to get them used to it. I am really pleased with the ingredients, the smell, the look (little pellets ) and how happy my cats are to eat it.Great news that they all (well, except Perla ) ate some of that NM Chicken. I tried offering up some NM turkey once again the other day and it didn't go so well :lol3: . Apparently mine haven't changed their minds yet! I'm wondering why I am taking up precious freezer space with it
Can't wait to hear your plan on how to feed everyone when you're on vacation.
Thank YOU :sun: :heart2: See, the problem is with the three scaredy cats.... I cannot be assured IF they will come and eat the wet food that Krista leaves down. She doesn't have an hour or two to spend fussing over them. AND IF she just leaves the wet food in six bowls.... guess who will eat up all of the food??? WALDEN AND WENDALL...... they will just gorge themselves sick, and be morbidly obese upon my return home. I could lock those two in the foster room for the duration... but that would be SOOOOOO mean and I can't do that. Wendall would get so stressed especially if we have storms. I have to leave my closet door open for him to go and hide. I have a special bed under a shelf in the closet and the shelf about 12 inches off the floor. He hides under the shelf during times when he is scared on the special bed. I cannot lock him in the foster room. He would be sick by the time I got home. AND I can't lock Perla in the foster room either. She would be so stressed too and have a Herpes flare-up. SUCH COMPLICATION.......Oh Lauren, that is GREAT news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bigthumb: I know it's stressful - and this makes just one less thing to worry about (but a BIG thing! not to worry about!!).

Thanks Yeah, I feel ok with the plan. This raw feeding makes it a dilemma when you have to go away. Especially, if you have some scaredy cats. I think that is partly why I am keeping them going with canned food and am happy to have found the ePIGen ( my cats are total PIGS for the stuff ) because at least, in my mind, that is the best dry kibble out there right now and I have no other choice unless I confine different groups of cats to separate rooms. I could do that, but I think that would cause great, great stress in all of my cats and then, as we know, I could return to sick cat's, and cat's that are so unhappy and insecure that my peaceful kitty home would change for the worse. You know?? There might be some inter-kitty relationship problems after that. Better to change their diet for a week while I am gone rather than have to confine and separate them just for diet management while I am gone. I am sure I am not the only one with this problem. Raw feeding, multiple cats and trying to take a vacation does not work so well. :lol3:I think we all know just where you're coming from. BUT, sounds like you've got a great plan!
I am certain no one will turn heads here :lol3: - not to worry. I am feeding SO many different things in my household right now, my head is spinning off :spin: And I would not expect anyone to judge me either. Actually, I am getting very interested in Wysong all together. They even have raw diets, and freeze-dried raw diets like Archetype... I am curiously interested in what Wysong has to offer, diet and supplements alike :nod:Lauren, where did you buy the epigen? I think I am going to switch Lucky for her downside.... For example.... Last week I got late for a feeding and she had acid throw up..... Took days to get over..... This trip she is on kibles, but I rather give epigen. I will be switching her back asap.....
Also, I don't know if I said anything..... I am sure some will turn heads.... But since mine a re not eating organs due to vomiting (they eat fd liver) I will start balancing their meats with wysong call of the wild. It is a sprinkle on supplement that balances the meat 100% with organs, bone/calcium, cartilage, taurine, vitamins, etc. It also has probiotics and enzymes, so if they like it it will ne great. Especially for Lucky- I feel her raw is not balanced at all.....
This is exactly why I am afraid to move to Frankenprey (if the time ever comes when they are readyBut since mine a re not eating organs due to vomiting (they eat fd liver) I will start balancing their meats with wysong call of the wild. Seriously!! Wow. I wonder why they would do that with the canned venison. I am not sure my cat's would like it - but my dog's might. Will give them a call. Thanks for the mention about the Archetype being easily rehydrated! That is a huge plus, especially for my dog, Wilbur. Both of my dog's and all of my cat's absolutely LOVE the Wysong ePIGen :lol3: I have never seen them so crazy for a dry food ever. YEAH - I saw the dream treats and was wondering about those . Good to know! ThanksFor anyone wanting Wysong, give them a call, not sure if it's still on but they were giving away cases of their venison canned food, it's cooked and not a complete diet (no calcium) but it's free lol, I got a couple cases for my dog. I feed their Arch 1 freeze dried to my ferrets, one needs to be fed before medicated 2x a day, it rehydrates very quick and they love it, never tried it on the cat. Their dream treats are a big hit around here as well.
Same here :anon: about going FP. BUT my cat's do get raw organic chicken (from Costco, breast and thigh) each day at dinner time mixed in with some canned. They are finally all enjoying it. Even Perla just started eating tiny pieces of it mixed in her canned. Pipsqueak totally refuses the raw chicken no matter how I cut it up for him or try to hide it. Anyway, I would be so worried about balancing the FP diet for my fussies, worrying that they are not getting everything necessary, especially if they don't finish a meal. I can guarantee that there will be days when my fussies will refuse to eat. AND they still are that way, depending on the day. I am still having some really nutso days over here :lol3: So I always have to have a fall-back plan each day and that is where the canned and Epigen come in. Hey.... it seems to be working just great for me and my babies at the moment!!! :cross: We are having really good raw eating days lately..... KNOCK WOODThis is exactly why I am afraid to move to Frankenprey (if the time ever comes when they are ready ). I'm so afraid they will not want to eat some of what is necessary. Either organs or that other 5%...secreting organs, I think it is? So does this stuff actually take the place of everything but the 80-85% meat? I looked it up on their website, but couldn't quite tell. Nice that it has probiotics and enzymes built right in.
It expires in Oct, don't know if they just had a ton or what but a case is usually like $45 so for the cost of shipping only it's an awesome deal. If you get on there 100 truths newsletter they send out coupons in it as well, free shipping, $10 off, etc.Seriously!! Wow. I wonder why they would do that with the canned venison.I am not sure my cat's would like it - but my dog's might. Will give them a call. YES... we all just do our best and it can be a different approach for everyone and a completely different plan but we all have the same goal. A better overall healthful diet for our babies !!!!!!!!Carolina, the last thing any of us are is judgmental! We all just do our best!!!!!
:bigthumb: You got that right and very well said  All of our kitties are on the path to a better overall diet !!!!!!!!!!! And that is progress we can all be proud ofAs to the FP... I know how everyone feels. I just really had no choice - my fussies stopped eating the ground or commercially prepared stuff! :lol3: So far, they mostly eat it - it does take some fussing. But the bigger concern for me is when they throw it up!!!!! I THINK (knock wood) I've got that figured out. But if Tux and Shel can't keep that food down... I'll have to figure something else out too. :cross: KNOCK WOOD.
But one thing that will always be in this house is canned food. When Laz gets fussy, I "wipe" a little of Spooky's wet food on his chunks to get him to eat it. And if that's what it takes - that's what it takes!
The bottom line is that even Spooky, who is eating one meal of raw a day, is eating a MUCH better diet than she was. Even when we were on "100% canned timed meals," I had kibble in the house, and when they asked for it, they got some. But now she (overall) eats a better quality canned than she was - and if I had major kibble addicts that wouldn't eat wet, at least now we've got better kibble choices for them!!!! So no matter what - they're all eating better than they were, whatever form that food is!
I know I am still in total shock over HT. I am having just as much luck with HT as I did with the RC AND at a much cheaper cost!!!!!! I will still buy some more RC but not go through it as fast next go around now that I can order the HT. OK - will try the hearts..... maybe..... :anon: It gives me the creeps :lol3: but what about the Do you have problems with the turkey or duck heart? Also, remember when I was "kinda" whining about not wanting to use HT BECAUSE I would have to mix in a supplement and I was worried I would screw something up ????? :lol3: WELL, you were right.... it is SOOOOO simple and easy and actually really fun preparing the meat. I feel like I am making a meatloaf I usually have an audience too while mixing up the HT. The cats really love the smell of HT :high5:Lauren? on the HT meats! Aren't they easy? OK - not as easy as just dethawing a patty - but the Alnutrin really IS easy to use!!!! And no veggies, no fruits - and beautiful meat! I'm so glad you're finding more proteins they like! :bigthumb:
BTW - when you order from HT, consider trying duck hearts. Turkey and duck heart are the absolute favorite meal of all the kitties here. (And it's just like handling meat - it's not like jelly pee or anything!!!!)
