2 weeks after spay my cat is coughing

2 weeks ago my cat got spayed. She had no complications and healed good.
The day I took her body suit off (Monday) she began coughing. I assumed she was going to cough a hairball so I wasn’t worried. Well she does it every few hours now. Coughs, acts like she wants to puke but nothing happens. I scheduled a appointment with her vet for tomorrow. Is this post surgery complications or something else? Anyone have advice?

There is no way of anyone here knowing exactly what it is. Glad you have her scheduled for an appointment. Better safe than sorry. Let us know what they say.

While it could be some residual irritation from the endotracheal tube used during anesthesia, I think she would have reacted earlier.

The best thing is for her to get an exam, which you are doing and see what the vet says.

The stress of the trip to the vet may have brought on an upper respiratory infection or she could've picked it up from the vet's office. It takes about 10-14 days to show up. Keep an eye on her and get her back to the vet if she doesn't improve.
