Timmy and Madison are beautiful! I'd have guessed hyperthyroid as well, but only the tests will tell. I hope the results go as well as they can! Glad to hear you had a good vet experience as well.
I got the test results today and all the tests came back perfect. Now I have to do GI labs that need to be sent to Texas. Thank you for the nice comment about Timmy and Madison. The test is being done Tuesday and he has to fast for 12 hours. Has anyone had this test
??
Sounds like a test for pancreatitis. The one done at Texas A & M is the best one for pancreatitis. The test was done on my IBD kitty when he was very ill and his came back negative.
I did a very quick Google search and the Viokase-V powder is expensive. It's about $225.00 for four ounces and it's administered at every feeding. I looked for the equivalent on the Canadian pet meds sites and didn't see it. I suspect that the Viokase-V is the brand name and that the same thing is available in a generic.
I don't know what your finances are, but if you're looking to save a little money you might call 1800PetMeds along with a few Canadian sources and talk to them. It couldn't hurt.
And, by the way, you're a wonderful, wonderful custodian to your two very lucky cats.
I lost my 16 year old baby Timmy to kidney failure. She was only 3 pounds but was a tough girl. Fought this for 2 1/2 years. Love you baby girl, I'll miss you.
