It's a part of his creation that we admire his work so- He's given you the gift to do so. Just don't touch the artwork!!
I like that analogy a lot - thanks! I'm glad you all are enjoying this so much!
Actually, it really helps me to keep a sense of humor about it.

Aries, thanks so much for sharing. I entered religious life 7 years ago this month, so this path isn't completely new to me. But, it's only been two years since I made my final vows, so I still wrestle at times with their meaning.

I completely agree with your examples of God's fine work!

Oh, you sound so well grounded! But the examples just about made me laugh out loud! (As did several other posts.) This is a very entertaining thread!!!

I just wanted to check in this morning to find out what Eileen dreamed about last night. I'm living my life vicariously through Eileen.
It just seems so much more exciting than my own.

Ok, so I have an admiration for classic art.
But I can appreciate younger pieces of work, too.
Which ones made you laugh in particular?

The problem is just knowing when it stops being appreciation and becomes lust that you have to be wary of. Or coveting what your neighbor's has can go hand in hand with lust. Not preaching just sharing.

Oh no, what have I started here?

Sorry to disappoint you guys, but I don't remember any dreams from last night! Most of the time they're pretty vivid and I do remember them, but I'm drawing a blank on last night. I'll try to do better tonight!

Eileen - you have made me laugh! I went to a catholic school - an all girls one to be exact, run by nuns and I had an interesting time.
I was actually viewed as a naughty girl because I would ask them brutal questions and that probably didnt help.

But, there was a boys school across the road and every year at the end of the school year, they would streak through our school in their undies and balaclavas and one of the nuns (who is also a mother superior) once said "ohhh I love this time of the year and always look forward to it!"

There was another nun who had a soft spot for me and would give me chocolate bars and was always open to questions that we had for her and it sure answered a lot!

This thread is cracking me up. Leave it to fwan...

Eileen, I think it's only natural to feel a bit tempted occasionally. I think a major point of the vows is that they are difficult to keep. (They'd be impossible for me.) If they were easy, it wouldn't be a serious commitment and sacrifice.

His name's Tom and he's a great guy and very much available. He just hasn't found the right person. I haven't seen him for a while, so why I'm all of the sudden dreaming about him, who knows? Anyway, my mom showed up in the dream too, which kind of put a damper on things.

Let's not start with every Tom, Dick and Harry now!

Maybe your dreams are compensation for whatever you gave up for Lent.

I still haven't forgiven my mom for waking me from a most delightful
dream. She woke me up just before he - um - um - um - just use your imagination!

And that dream was over 20 years ago! (Yeah, I can hold a grudge sometimes.)

Wow, that must have been some dream!

So, it appears the solution here is to go to Taco Bell. Or, I could just hold out another week and accept the dreams - not necessarily a bad thing! I wonder who will be next?

Well now let's see - last night it was Tom, so tonight it must be Dick's turn - how many guys named Dick do you know? (or would you LIKE to know?
)

Hmmm, don't know any guys named Dick. There's a Rick in my office though. Nice enough guy, but I'd rather have a spicy chicken burrito.
