My mood is dampened a little tonight; the landlord is at it again. I went to leave for work, and he had posted a note on our door giving us 3 days to "get rid of" all but 7 cats, or to leave. He also indicated he is severing our lease.

I will be calling the lawyer in the AM to find out what to do now.

At least I have the wherewithal to afford a place now.

Well, it's in Golden, in the Heritage Dells neighborhood. But I kind of doubt the enormous number of cats thing here in the city. It would be cool if you could get a rural property...let me think on that a bit...

The check was supposed to clear tomorrow AM. I just checked my balance online...and the check was refused. So it wasn't real, after all.

I am so crushed.

I am going to call the bank and the sheriff's office in the AM to find out what the he*l is going on. Why would they send me a check and then refuse to honor it? It's like on top of the pain of losing my house, they decided to twist the knife a little bit more. I feel like I was having a good dream and woke back up to the lousy reality of my life. :pity party:

Oh MAN that sucks. I can't believe it. Don't give up just yet, it could very well be something beauracratic that'll get cleared up.
All my fingers crossed for you.

That's what Tybalt thinks it is. I'm too upset to think clearly about it, and on top it that, I need to go into work tonight. I don't know how I am going to get through.

I'm really hoping that it's just a clerical error or something like that. Definitely follow up on that check with your bank here and the bank back in PA. BTW, if they knowingly sent a bad check across state lines, it is a Federal Offense, so definitely call the police on it too once you find out what is going on with that check.

Wow. Thanks for that info, Heidi!! That's the first glimmer of hope I've allowed myself.

Maybe I can sue them for 44k?

Awwwwwwwwwww, Sue! That is so rotten! I hope it does turn out to be a clerical error or something that can get sorted out without a lot of fuss and in your favour.
