My mother's maiden name is Native American, and she really got picked on growing up for it: Silvernail. Especially because when she was young the Bond movie Goldfinger was out. She tells me she used to hear, "Silvernail's gonna marry Goldfinger!" alllll the time!!

When I was young I was in Children's Musical Theatre with a boy named Ashley Hull, not too bad...but he liked to go by Ash....so all the kids would chant, "Ash Hull! Ash Hull!" Can ya hear why that's funny??

Also, someone mentioned the last name Truelove, there's actually a guy in one of my grad school classes with this last name. It also turns out that he recently proposed to his girlfriend, so of course all of the women in my class were going, "Awww that's so sweet! Truelove proposed to his true love!"

Oooh boy...I got teased a lot in school. What made it worse was to have teachers refuse to say my name appropriately. Its not hard.

Doe

Really not that bad of a name..I mean its English it means a female dear. Its also uncommon. Anyone and everyone who sees my last name (even people I don't know, like grocery cashiers, etc):
Is your father/brother named John?
Good thing your name isn't Jane.
Doe like a dear?
Hahahahahaha (yes that happened once, a cashier burst out laughing when she saw my credit card)
And the list goes on and on....

I had a teacher call me Natalie Doe-Doe. I had another teacher that thought my name MUST be wrong and it MUST be Dow. So she wrote Dow on everything of mine. Even after I corrected her (I was in the 5th grade) she still refused to say/spell my name correctly.

I'm getting married soon. I'm getting a new English name - Flowers. I'm so happy. Its not the greatest name for a boy to have, but for me it will do just fine!!!!

Movin' on up!
My maiden name was normal but, I just HAD to marry a man with an Austrian-Jewish last name. No one can pronounce it if they see it written and no one can spell it, if they hear it.

To top it off, my maiden name initials were CAT (how appropriate) and my current initials are CAR.

I knew a person named Olive Moo.

I also know a man whose last name is Booze, who used to work side-by-side with a man whose last name is Goodwine. They were quite the pair!

Oh, and there was a teacher at my high school whose last name was Fallis.

And I know a couple of people named Richard Johnson. Fortunately, neither goes by Dick.

Flowers seems to be pretty common. I can put my name in a search engine and about 75% of the things are about me. The funny thing is the other 25% are things where people assumed my name in court or something to protect their identity
. With Flowers....I'll be lost among the thousands with the same name
. Oh well, no excuses to pronounce the name wrong!!!!

I like the name Jace...will have to remember that
. I think our first boy will be Daniel.

The last name of my best friend in high school was Prince. Her mom gave birth to twin boys. They decided on the first names of: Ima and Yora... Poor kids.
