Just wondering what your plans are for the upcoming Valentine's Day. A young couple in our church hosts a party at their home for the church members, adults only. They prepare a formal sit down dinner and serve it in their huge dining room. She and her husband are maitre' d and waitress for the occasion. They usually have a choice of the main dish. Then they have salad, bread, and a choice of wonderful desserts. This lady prepares all the food herself. Last year, she did allow me to bake pies for dessert, but she said no this year. She wants to prepare it all herself. She would not flinch if you told her today that she had to feed 75 people tomorrow. She can throw food on the table like nobody else I have ever seen. Anyway, the Valentine Party is always real special. She plans games with prizes and guests always leave with party favors to take home. Her house is decorated with the Valentine theme, candles, lights, hearts, etc. Each couple gets their pictures taken. Later everyone gets their picture already framed. A good time is had by all.

Sooo I'm HOPING him and I will do something for Valentine's Day.

One thing is for sure..I'll be eating a lot of chocolate!!!

That woman sounds like a regular old Martha Stewart!..how nice of her and her husband to do something like that!!. This year I won't be doing much..I'm still here with my family and Jeff is still up north so this will be our first Valentine's Day without eachother...no matter..I'm sure we'll spend most of the night on the phone together!

Well since I don't have a boyfriend I offered to sub a bunch of group exercise classes for a couple of girls, so I'll be teaching 4 strengthening classes on Valentine's Day. One of my guy friends was talking about inviting all of his single friends over that night, so hopefully I'll do that as well. We'll see! It's my first valentine's Day without someone in 7 years!!!

You won't be without someone Katherine, at the very least in the sense of company. The single guys will be all over you!

We are going to go out to eat and go to the movies.
We don't get to go on dates very often because we don't have a lot of money.

We've never been big valentine's day people. Since its a Tuesday and I have class at night, we probably won't do anything, maybe go to brunch that day since neither of us work tuesdays daytime...
Of course, if he bought me jewelry I wouldn't refuse it! But the last thing I need is more jewelry!

Not a thing, and I'm attached. I'm just not into V-Day. I WILL be volunteering on a production of Vagina Monolouges the following weekend, for a different kind of V-Day, though

Being single, I don't have any big plans for the day. Anyone want to be my date?

I jump at the chance to celebrate whatever the occasion may be! My little Valentines, Sierra and Serenity, will be having a special Valentine's dinner!

Outdoor jazz concert at the Deering Estate in Palmetto Bay, about a mile away from our home. It is located right on Biscayne Bay with dozens of 40 ft tall Royal Palms leading down to the Bay. It is an amazing setting to listen to great jazz, especially if there is a full moon rising over the Bay. I love winter!

It's my first single Valentines day alone in a few years too.

Going to go to a restaurant with some friends and laugh at the couples taking it all so seriously!

If my kitchens been re-fitted in time, might even thow a party!

I tried to post a reply yesterday but it just disappeared and then I couldn't access the site.

Trying again...we will go out to dinner, and I have a small gift for dh, we decided on nothing large for him this year as we just bought him a new chip and motherboard for his 'puter. I know he bought me a gift, no clue except he says it will make me cry..hmm....

We also celebrate the day after Valentine's day as that is the day we became engaged (back in 1995).

I am hopeful for a bit of chocolate, and do usually get flowers, which I admit to adoring. I love having fresh flowers in the house, but rarely budget buying them, and somehow my gardens never produce enough for me to have bouquets...I need to rethink the amount I plant of cutting flowers.
