I think for bridesmaid dresses I'm going with that chocolately color (David calls it "truffle" or a lighter brownish-beige. Then the flowers are going to be red, orange, pink, and yellow (very fall-ish).

Since Bradley never comes on this site....anyone want to see the 2 dresses I *think* I have it narrowed down to??

The brownish dress is the one I tried on but apple is color I'm getting. My sister actually LOVED it.

OK, here goes y'all (Shh! No telling Bradley!). Right now I'm sort of torn between these 2 dresses, but leaning towards the first one. What do y'all think?

OMG! I was just looking through dresses on David's and fell in LOVE with the first dress. Very weird! I do like them both but I do love the first one a lot! My sister's has the champagne layover type deal too and I like that a lot. They are both beautiful though!

Our wedding isn't until June 2007 and I'm already getting stressed. The guest list is over 130 people long and that's just my side!!! I know I'm going to make people mad by not inviting them but I really can't help it.

And the Bridal party situtation.... geez. I have 4 really great friends from college, the bad thing is that they are all from West Virginia, Maryland and New Jersey..... very far away. I have a friend from High School who expects to be a Bridsmaid simple because we went to high school together.... if fact the first thing she said to me after I got engaged was "I'm in the wedding right" What do you say to that???? I have already asked my sister to be my Maid of Honor, that was a given, and I'm planing to ask his sister to be a Bridesmaid. I'm thinking about stoping right there to stop the headaches.... I feel bad already about possible leave my college friends out of the bridal party, but That's just how it's going to be. I also have to figure out how many Jon wants to have. and we have to get things down in writing so we know what we descided on.

Anyone getting stressed out or is it just me?

Woah, that is a tough situation to be in. That is very rude and presumptuous of your high school friend to just assume she was going to be in your wedding! Maybe you could make her an usher to appease her if you have people closer to you that you'd like in your wedding party? It is YOUR day, remember that.

Wow, 130 people on just your side are a LOT. Before your guest list gets bigger, try to find a place to hold the ceremony and reception. Find out what their size limits are and that way you know how many people you can definitely invite, assuming that about 80-90% of the people who you invite will actually attend.

Don't get too stressed- you have a year and a half left to enjoy the single life

Dont get stressed on the list size, just remember if you have to lower your number to invite people won't be affended, they will understand. I know how you feel because I invited 1000 people to my wedding.

This is so fun. I love being all girly and getting into the whole wedding thing

On a side note, I'm still waiting for that ring...haha! I'm actually in no hurry....but it's inevitable, so it's hard NOT to get excited!

Congratulations to all of the soon-to-be wedded!
I just saw this thread, and thought I would chime in.

I got married about 2 1/2 years ago. We had a medium-sized wedding...about 130 people. It was on Memorial Day weekend at the end of May. Our ceremony was in a rose garden, and our reception was at a banquet hall. I did all the planning myself, with a lot of help from DH, my sister (MOH) and my mother, and I had a blast doing it. In fact, I even thought about going into the wedding planning business afterwards. I do a lot of event planning as part of my current job (most of it long distance), so that isnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t as much of a stretch as it sounds like.

Amy, the Mulberry Inn looks beautiful! Keep in mind, though, that it will probably end up being even more expensive than what theyâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]re showing you now. There are always last-minute expenses that come up. Plus, remember that youâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ll have to pay tax and gratuity on top of the prices theyâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]re showing you. So the whole thing will probably end up coming in at 35-50% over what youâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]re seeing now.

I think both the dresses are beautiful. Personally, I like the second a little better, but either one is gorgeous. Youâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ll definitely want to go try some dresses on before you make a final decision, though. I had two dresses I had narrowed it down to, but when I went to try them on neither one looked good on me. I ended up with a dress that was totally different than what I originally thought I wanted.

eburgess, what an awful situation! I swear, weddings bring out the best or the worst in most people. Do what you want to do as far as who you have as part of your wedding party. Your number of bridesmaids donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t necessarily have to be the same as your fianceâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s number of guys. Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve been to lots of weddings where the numbers arenâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t the same, and it all works out fine. I donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t necessarily agree with the advice to make your high school friend an usher just to appease her. If sheâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s somebody that you want to be involved, great, do it. If not, giving her another role may lead to more headaches than it solves.

The size of your guest list will probably be dictated by your budget…if your budget will allow for 200 guests, no problem. Otherwise, youâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ll probably have to either narrow down your list of make some compromises on the reception. The reactions of other people probably wonâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t be as much of a problem as you fear. I thought that weâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]d have a lot of people mad at us, but most people understand that there are limits to what you can afford.

My best (unsolicited) advice for everyone planning a wedding is to find somebody to coordinate everything on the day of the wedding. If you can hire a day-of coordinator, great. If not, find somebody who isnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t otherwise involved, and who you trust, to take charge on the day of. You will be SO overwhelmed and busy that day that you donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t need to deal with it. (And, frankly, your wedding party will be worrying about their part and may not be as helpful as youâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]d like.) I had a friend of mine do this for my wedding, and it was wonderful. All of the inevitable crises were dealt with by her, and I was free to enjoy the day.

Beryl, I love your knot page! Couldn't get your wedding dress to show up though
.
Yup, Bradley and I have one, too (though I cannot figure out how to center the picture of us on top
). Our knot page is here: http://weddings.theknot.com/pwp/view...66946240833360

Alaynna, it looks like you had a beautiful wedding! Those wreaths you were both wearing are so neat!

Fran, hon, you know what happened is for the best (though it doesn't feel that way sometimes). You'll eventually find the right guy that you'll really WANT to be married to!

Tari, thank you for the advice
. You'd make an amazing wedding planner! If we don't have our wedding at the Mulberry (and it's looking like that more and more each day), I'm definitely hiring a day-of planner!

Edited to add: Now I can see your dress for some reason Beryl. GORGEOUS!
I love the detail at the waist!

Thanks for your kind words!! The wreaths are holy crowns, because we attend a Greek Orthodox Catholic church.
