I just buried my baby Zero. She was born May 21, 2005, and died today, June 30th. She was fine this morning, and tonight she was laying still and stiff. There were marks by her neck where I could see that her Momma Sugartoes had been licking her long fur, probably trying to awaken her. Her fluffy soft gray body is buried next to baby B.B.

This is her on her back, showing off how cute she was. I had a new family lined up for her, they were going to call her Lita. I cannot believe she is gone.

I know the wise thing would be a necropsy, but she is such a tiny baby. I couldn't hand her over, or hold her tiny body until tomorrow. She is next to B.B. now, under the honeysuckle bush. The honeysuckle is no longer in bloom, but she has catnip flowers with her.

I am so sad to lose this tiny baby. She was everyone's favorite, because she looked so cute, and my favorite because she would always come up to me, and she was never startled by me. I am down to three now. And I pray for their health.

I'm so sorry to hear about that! It must be hard being so unexpected.
She knew she was loved and now has a nice resting space. I am so sorry.

Oh that is sad. I am so sorry for you - but probably you are right not to wait for a necropsy as it might not show anything anyway. They are such fragile little things. But she was so beautiful - it is a terrible thing to suddenly happen.

Aww, you poor thing. I think you are right about not wanting to do the tests, she was too tiny to be messed about with.

Thank you all so much for your kind words. I have told the woman who was to adopt her. She said at least "Z" had 5 weeks of happiness, in her time here with me. I will not let her chose another kitten. It is bad enough to bury my own baby, but to have other people already claim her...

I will be going out of town for the weekend, and won't be checking the boards for a few days. Thank you all for your kindness and prayers. It really is such a big comfort.

I am so sorry for your loss. She was a beautiful little girl. This really touches my heart b/c I have 2 that look just like her!! One boy and one girl. The girls name is Bonita (pretty little girl in spanish) and the little boy I named Chief (in honor of "Big Chief"that passed about a week ago. I read his story here on this forum)

Here is a pic of Chief. Bonita looks just like him.

I hope you soon find peace in your heart. For this little angel is now in a wonderful place.

Aww Becky, I'm so sorry! Fostering is such a wonderful and giving thing that can bring so much fulfillment, but this is the part that is so, so hard. Thank you for loving this baby so much.

Oh my goodness, I can't believe it! That does look just like Zero! If I lived closer I would come over and give Chief and Bonita big kisses! Thank you so much for sharing! That picture makes me smile!

Awww , I'm so sorry to hear about Zero.
She knew much love in her short time here, and has taken that love with her to the Bridge.

RIP sweet baby Zero.

Becky at that age a necropsy is a waste of time and money. It could have been FKS or another genetic problem that claimed Z

My heart goes out to you. These little ones are tough...one day ok and the next not. God bless you for showing her love & kindness during her little life.

Will say a prayer for your little one and for you to find inner peace.
