I think I could have chalked up the drug stuff to being young and stupid, but good singer or not, the domestic violence turns me off BIG time

It doesn't change my opinion. I know very few young people who haven't tried or done drugs. It doesn't mean he's a bad person, it just means he got caught.

I love Rock music..and I don't do drugs...but I would be more surprised if he had never done drugs than this. I find it stupid, but that is nothing out of the ordinary for the music scene.

I don't think Bo is the best singer anyways but now since reading that, I wouldn't vote for him. I cannot accept domestic violence, especially since I work in the Crim Justice field.

Absolutely not. The charges aren't "now" and I've watched him as he interacts with everyone when it's on the air. He has mega talent and everyone is allowed to screw up in life. I cannot stand self-righteous holier- than-thou people who cast such judgment on others without getting the entire story and facts. Wasn't he forthcoming with Idol, anyhow? How many would have stepped up as he did. Really! The press isn't everything. All of us have black marks, it shouldn't deter from his talent. Who knows? Maybe he'll win and make money and give to others in rehab as a philanthropic endeavor. He's young, let him grow. If he's a decent person now and plys by the rules, then what gives? Corporate America has vultures that are far worse hurting thousands of people every day - and they're paid zillions to do so.

Bo didn't do domestic violence, he just did drugs. I chock it up to youth mostly, I personally don't hold it against him.

Bo was arrested on drug charges. The article says it's Scott Savol who was arrested for domestic violence...big shock, huh? That guy (Scott) has anger oozing out of him.

I'd have to say that I DO think less of him. He's been arrested for cocaine not just weed.

I know most people say "oh well, he was young and stupid - he made a mistake" but in my opinion, it's a mistake the first time and a habit after that.

And, I'd also like to point out that I think he and I are around the same age (27) and I have never experimented with any illegal dugs. I did my fair share of dumb young things but all were legal! I did not grow up in a very religous family.....just strong morals.

I believe that when we start accepting these people, we begin to compromise our values and the values of our children.

Oops, I see that now since I re-read the article. I still don't think Bo is the best singer on there no matter what his past hx was. Drugs I am more willing to be understanding about because I know there are alot of kids that have made mistakes and experimented.

i know many people around here go to holland to smoke weed as its only 1 hour away.
The only drug ive ever done was alcohol and smoking
which of course nearly everyone has tried.
Someone who has gotten over an addiction i will be proud of because its really hard to give up something once youre addicted.
Anyway i dont even know what the heck american idol is anyway... is it another thing like big brother?

Fwan you never, ever cease to make me smile!
American Idol is just a little cheesy talent show on television with super-high ratings that can make a person's life better financially by winning it and the winner gets $1 million and a recording contract! It's a voice (pop music) competition where unknowns across America get to try out and try to be selected from whomever in America votes for them through about 8 rounds or so of singing. It's just for talent, not for Pope.......
