Brendan and I are headed to Asheville, NC for a short (I can't afford anything too long) anniversary vacation in 12 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish. I really want to go to Florida to visit my mom for Christmas but It's just too expensive. Plus we'd have 4 dogs to board and that's quite costly as well.

Susie, I grew up in Darnestown, MD and every summer we would go to Ocean City for 2 weeks when my Dad had off. We even went to Rehobeth Beach, Delaware and Bethany Beach just down the way. Oh, this brings such memories back because I know the area so well.....well, I know under the boardwalk really well. HA! HA!
What route are you taking? Are you driving through Salisbury, MD? That is one of the prettiest towns I have ever seen. It is ALL white victorian homes and stores line Main Street, it's like something out of a novel.
You must take photos and show me how it is changed!!! The last time I was there was when I was 18.

Oh E, I didn't know that! Well, you guys know me and pictures!! I'll be taking tons of them.....and I'll check out that Salisbury town.......sounds like something right up my alley!!!!!

Vacation? What's that? All of life is one big vacation - at home. I'm retired and loving every minute of it! I'm on the bay. Great view. Great yard with birds and animals. I've been to Hawaii four times. I've been through Tahiti, Moorea, Huahina, Bora Bora, Raiatea. To Mexico. Through parts of Canada. But one just can't beat home sweet home - with my three furbabies.

I already went on Vacation twice this year. I went to Orlando on January, and I went to Treasure Island about three weeks ago. I plan on going to Sanibel & Captiva Island during the summer, and next month I'll be going to Naples, FL (I was supposed to go two weeks ago, but I couldn't go because I had two sick kitties). Finally, I'll be going on a Disney Cruise later on this year with the entire family.
Also, I'll be making a roadtrip to Tallahassee, FL for the big Labor Day college football game. (U of Miami vs. Florida State University)

My husband's grandparents live in Lewes beach, DE. It's very close to Rehobeth, Delaware, and Bethany beaches!!! We go there at least a few days each year!! They have some awesome outlet malls and it's even better because DE has no state sales tax! I love it there. I also LOVE the fries you can get on the boardwalks!!Originally Posted by sashacat421

Vacation doesn't come until July, and then, barring the unforeseen, we are headed on a looooooooooong trip -- our usual one to our back yard
The odd short jaunt, perhaps, but that's it for the month of July.
