I voted for Jazz wich I really like, because there wasn't a spot for Folk - I really love Celtic Folk music - like Steeleye Span.
But just to be really different I also like Heavy Metal - like The Doors , Hawkwind Motorhead etc. Also Yes, although I'm not sure that Yes fit into any catagory of music - they are just great.

<33 Most of those....... except LP and Evanescence and Guster.

I know, and I actually was intending to put Folk in as a category (I grew up on the stuff).

You can lump in Heavy Metal with Rock, and Yes are Progressive Rock, so ditto on the Rock category.

Actually, if you like Yes, I imagine you like other Prog Rockers such as Genesis and Rush?

I try really hard to like the heavy stuff, and I have learned not to hate it. But I don't think I'll ever make that genre a part of my CD collection.
You should check out Twisted Method. They are amaaaazing, and I am pretty picky about the heavier stuff I listen to. Great CD and GREAT live show (the first time I ever heard of them was Ozzfest and they blew me away... I have seen so many shows that that is extremely hard to do). They are not on this year's Ozzfest, but they were on Ozzfest 2003....

There are actually a LOT of people who aren't into music. I'm just obsessed.
Glad to hear that.

Have you listened to Butch Walker before? I have been a fan of his for a long while but he's not someone a lot of people have heard of.

I'll have to check out Twisted Method. Thanks for the tip.

Oh I just couldn't choose - I have such a wide taste. I love most popular music - although I'm not keen on rap and dance music. My dad has a singles collection that spanned 50s to mid 80s right from Elvis, Bill Haley and The Beatles originals to the disco stuff of the 80s. As I got older I grew into classical music too - I love choral music and some opera - particularly tenors and mezzo-sopranos. The kids introduce me to today's music as well. My favourites of recent years include Pulp, Blur and Franz Ferdinand. As I said - a very wide taste.

Opera - another missed category!

I also like Pulp, Blur and (more of the moment) Franz Ferdinand... good Britpop
The Killers are also a great happening band.

Wait, no techno?!?! Why... the nerve!!

Oddly enough, my two favorite kinds are classical and techno (electronica, whatever - all the sub-genres).
