I was sitting on my couch, debating on getting on TCS... but I figured I'd be at work in an hour so it could wait.

So I check my email on my phone (yes I'm a nerd) and I see an email with the subject header TOPP Acceptance.

Well I RAN to my computer, tripping over my cat in the process where I found this:

Congratulations! Your application for the 2005-2006 Teacher Orientation and Preparation Program and the Spring Content Preparation Program has been reviewed and approved.
YAY!!!
What wonderful words! Classes start either Feb. 7th or 8th, depending on which session I want. Unfortunately the $750 tuition fee (1 fee of many) is also due... but let's not think of that! Let's celebrate - I got in!

(Now if only I could get my boyfriend and my parents to stop saying "I told you so!")

Ha ha, that sounds ominous!

Thanks everyone - I'm really excited. A bit nervous, as I can see how my current employer won't be thrilled about all the days off I'll need... but definitely excited!

And Beryl - you do realize this means you're gonna go into overdrive helping me out as my mentor, right? A lot of helping me study, making me study, reassuring me...
Fun for you!

Bring on the challenge!! I had to go through it all, now its your turn. Remember the time best spent for you will be in the school with kids. The classes don't really mean much. Teaching is kinda a sink or swim profession. You have to just kinda be thrown into the water and then find your way. I know that doesn't sound all that promising, but you have to find your own style and your own way to get the job done. I think you were meant to teach, you seem to have a love and a desire to do this, and you're gonna be great!

I dunno, I'm getting nervous now! I've never been a leader really, I've always been more of a follower... that's why I fell into my current job: because I basically do what I'm told. And teaching is kind of a leader position... Yikes, what am I getting myself into!?!
