I know, MA ,that you don't want any "I'm sorries"

But I do want to say (and have to
) that I hope Mike realizes the danger he could be in soon and does something about it (sorry to be so blunt- he needs to) and that you take a well deserved break sooner than later... you truly amaze me~

MA, I am sorry. Not pity sorry, but sympathy sorry. Not, "poor you!" but more like "geez, what a rotten time you've got right now."

I haven't any advice. What I have is a trip to OR next week, and I'd like to come kidnap you and take you for a lunch somewhere. Anywhere. Just away, and just a wee 90 minute break with a meal in there. And then I could hug you in person. I'm even willing to come over and help around the house for a bit, if you could use that. Muck out a stall, wash up some dishes, cook some food for you both...smells don't get me; I've sat through several autopsies, so smelly wounds aren't really an issue.

Remember that caring for Mike means you have to stay healthy and sane yourself. And that means food, breaks, sleep, and moments outside by yourself, no-one needing something from you for just a few minutes (no animals, no hubby...no-one), and moments where you can cry and scream out your fears, anger and frustration.

Even if you won't come out for lunch, know that you're loved, thought about, and "vibed" from down here in SoCa.

You've got my number. Now's a good time to use it...and no, it's no problem.

Hugs-
Michele

I had two TCS Christmas Elves visit today! They arrived at noon and set to work on my house. One elf put up more insulation in our new addition, on the outside bedroom wall so Mike wouldn't be so cold at night! He also fixed a hole in our window that the cats made, so they can't escape out when we are not watching. The second elf went to work scrubbing my home! She worked very efficiently and effortlessly, and although I felt like I was moving in slow motion next to her, she never complained about my lack of energy. They scolded Mr. Michael when he kept trying to get up and they presented him (us) with lovely handmade dream catchers and a beaded ornament to capture any evil spirits.

They truly made me cry, for they do not get very many "free" days and they sacrificed their free day, drove over 5 hours to get her, and made my house shine and my spirit soar. They also left a wonderful brandy and vanilla candle that quite effectively took the stench out of my home and is leaving a wonderful smell-

Thank you sashacat and Eric for your wonderful act of kindness. And Eric thank you also for pitching in with the horses before you guys left-

I will be forever grateful for your act of friendship today-----

Love you both~

Might have known what names we were going to see at the end!

So glad to hear you've had a lift, MA, in this grueling time, and I hope you'll accept whatever other opportunities present themselves to get a breather -- so important when you're dealing with a situation like this.

continued prayers

and thanksgivings for true friends who provide necessary relief
Elizabeth and Eric

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. <----That is ^ (above quote) in action.

Cobber, I've been following this and your other thread. This may sound harsh but I need to say it.

Mike, in his pain, is being really, really selfish. The wound he has needs hospitalisation and it is wrong for him to get you to carry out duties that really need at least a qualified nurse. In hospital, they can stabilise his diabetes, manage his inappetence, care for his wound with the best of equipment and perhaps give IV meds. You are run off your feet already and I worry that you are going to burn out. I think it's time to tell Mike that he needs to go into hospital. You are his wife, not his mum or nurse. Of course, partners take care of each other when they're ill but we all have our limits.

I care for you and love you and I want things to be as easy for you as possible. Please take care of yourself.

Well we are back at our jobs today! I, personally, had a great time and I know Eric loves to be a magic man, so there.
MA, I have not forgotten the help you gave me with Sasha in my moments of darkness, as you knew he was my last surviving one after such a tough 2003. This year is better for us and the LEAST we can do is take all that positive energy and put it where it needs to be put.
Indeed the "free" time Eric and I have together is small, so what better way to have him all to myself than sequestered in the truck for 10 hrs eating Taco Bell at 80 mph in the middle of Oregon?

Namaste~~
Heed Kumbulu's words my friend.

Did you hang Tazzie's and Bailey's dream catchers?
I hope today is just a little bit better.

Oh, hugs to Elizabeth and Eric! You two just earn extra gold stars!

Personally, I like eating Taco Bell at 80mph!

Well I think its all been said before me and I concer that Mikes may need more medical attention than you are able to give. What happens if you get sick?? You need to stay healthy too!!
Thanks to Elizabeth & Eric for their unselfish act of kindness.
You both take care.

That is excellent
thank you Elizabeth and Eric, because that was WONDERFUL! There's nothing like having someone to share hard work with to raise spirits (it sounds ridiculous, but if the work is hard, it's made light with friends.)

As for Mike. If the infection is reeking, then there's a serious infection that may start to affect his organs if it is not monitored by a doctor in a facility sweetheart
I hope he's willing to listen, and at least get admitted to have it seriously looked at.
