Here is my queen, Spooks. (You can almost see her little bump in the photo(-:) she is 7 months old and was abandoned as a kitten. She's about a month along (maximum) because we rescued a boy stray, got him fixed immediately, but I hadn't done proper research and our vet neglected to tell us that male cats remain fertile for a few weeks! So, here we are. This is my first time expecting kittens so I am a nervous wreck! This website has been a saving grace for all of my questions so I figured I would make my own thread for any questions I had that weren't answered

Should I be concerned that I can't feel her kittens moving? She's about 44 days along, and her belly is continuously growing, she wouldn't be growing if they were going to be stillborn right?

Your cat is just about to hit the point where you will be able to see and/or feel the babies moving. It's the last 2-3 weeks of pregnancy! [emoji]128077[/emoji]

Is it normal for her to want her belly rubbed? She was never too fond of this before and it's more like she just wants pressure on her belly than anything, she will come lay on my arm or with her belly on my hand, is she in pain?

Yes, many pregnant cats enjoy having tummy rubs. [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Could anyone help me with getting her to like her nesting box? I live in a small apartment, and as we get closer to delivery I try to close her in my room so I get in the habit and we avoid any accidents but the only place she ever seems to be when I come home is on my bed. AND I have whit bedding....I've set up a large plastic storage box with a plush blanket (that she usually loves) in it. I try putting her in it and putting her toys in it but nothing seems to help

Cats usually don't go to their nesting place until time to deliver. Also, since she enjoys your bed, you should cover it with an old quilt or towels in case she does decide to deliver on it.

I do have to say, I'm going to be sad to see this affection go! Before the pregnancy she was quite the spaz and I'm assuming that since she was abandoned so young, played rougher than any other cat I've owned

Belly update! She's about 48 days along (though she may be 41 we aren't too sure which weekend she got pregnant) still not able to feel any kitten movement, I'm kind of nervous about that but everything else seems to be okay. She still has no interest in her nesting box, and I'll be posting a picture of one of her nipples in just a moment because I have some questions

So some of her nipples have this dark grey color and I wasn't sure if it was normal, is this just because of her coat?

I'm worried that she may be playing too rough; I'm a college student so for the most part she's alone (except on weekends when I'm with my boyfriend and his cat, the father to her litter) but now I'm home for spring break and she doesn't seem to get along with one of my cats, lots of meowing and hissing and growling, I'm attempting to keep them separated but I'm worried about her kittens!

Does she live with you at college? Will she and her kittens stay at your home or go back to college with you?

Please do keep her separated. She will not want other cats around her babies when they come. It sounds like she is already in defensive mode.

Is your boyfriend's cat getting neutered? And is your cat getting spayed after this litter weans?

Her kittens will be with me until they are weaned and hopefully into new homes fairly quickly which conveniently falls right around when summer begins so there may be a period of time when they are here but not until they are older. Yes his cat was fixed before she got pregnant, you can read my original post. And she will be fixed asap after the litter weans.

The kittens will need to stay with you and their mom until they are 10-12 weeks old.  Mom can be spayed when they are 8 weeks old.  Do you plan to spay and neuter the kittens before they go to their new homes?

Yes, that's the plan! I luckily qualify for a prevent a litter program so I can get it done for very inexpensive, but their poilcy is two months after the kittens are weaned but she's an inside only cat and the only cat not fixed yet so I'm not too worried about her.
