Sometimes you just have to bug the kitty and love on them.  SIGH...Hekitty does NOT approve of being "squoze" upon, but sometimes I just NEED to nestle her close for the 15-20 seconds that she allows it.  Artie will survive a bit of loving attention.  AND MORE POOPS!  I swoon...

Honeybee on my lap, music playing in background
I think he is pooping plenty. Remember they are smaller than us. They eat smaller meals than us. As long as he eliminates every 48 hours at min I think he is doing well. My cats don't eat much. They are full size and one is chubby. Floey used to eat them out and I remember going through a 5lb bag of kibble every 6 weeks or so. Now that same bag lasts us 3 months :p Of course Jon spoils them with Treats.

Did I tell you that Honeybee is now biting him when she wants to be fed?! He will be ignoring her and she swishes her tail in his face then walks all over him then sits and meows..if he still doesn't pay attention she jumps up and bites him in the arm!!! I saw this with my own eyes Thursday when we stayed home for the snow storm...she really is a BRAT!

I don't know if I would try the appetite thingy yet. Don't forget that higher quality food-they don't need as much. I would gage his behavior-if he's lethargic and mopey then maybe a treatment but the way he is acting-sounds like he is feeling so much better. Of course continue with the sub fluids and meds as usual. I just don't see the eating being an issue BUT it's your call. My cats don't eat the same every day. Some days they eat a ton..then other days they don't hardly eat but they are playing and walking around and meowing for rubs and attention. Tuna water could be easier on him. I recently had to start giving Honeybee syringed Mira as well and she licks it as I push the liquid out of the syringe..I put it at the corner of her mouth and she actually drinks like a human...good thing it doesn't have a flavor.

I hope you guys don't get as much snow down there Sun night. Looks like we will get slammed at home but work looks to only get rain and a few inches of snow..that's always the way..the pain is digging out the snow from the plows going by because I don't have a high enough truck to just drive over it when it comes up to my knees. I am already sick of winter and dreary. I don't like the sun out because it hurts my eyes and I can't find my sunglasses..I much prefer spring and fall...the snow is pretty but we can't go outside and poke around...

At a dose of 1/2 pill per day, you still have more than a week's supply of cypro.  That should be plenty long enough to get a scrip from your R Vet, and if she doesn't feel qualified to give you one it's time to call the N Vet and ask for an emergency scrip to get you through.
N Vet will not give a prescription for a new client he has not yet seen.

Artie seems happy, alert and healthy.....

I feel better if he eats a bit more, and poops a bit more.. I am never satisfied..
Don't just focus on Artie's various health issues. Artie is the most important thing. As long as he's happy and otherwise healthy, you're doing everything right

I know the N Vet would never prescribe a drug without first seeing the animal.. no reputable Vet or Doctor would do that.

I did give Artie 1/2 of a cypro.. he ate good.. 1 1/4, of 5.5 oz cans in a 24 hour period.. he feels so heavy..

He is still nibbling a bit.. no more cypro...

He tried to poop, dogged a lot, but nothing came out... sigh....

I hope he goes.. we are getting another snowstorm..... today and tomorrow.. it was raining earlier,  and today is Sunday.. sigh..

He just found a way into his quilt/tent. Shortly, I will see if he wants to get brushed..

Woke up late again today.. it is going to be another lazy day.. a couple loads of laundry.. his fuzzy fleece throw, and my towels...

I need him to poop!! I do not like it when he tries and nothing comes out!!!

Well that's good as far as how much he has eaten. Based on that, he should hopefully go. If he feels up to playing, after he's rested, maybe that will get him moving enough to help get it going. ;)

I asked Artie if he wanted to be brushed.. I pulled away the covers.... he just stayed there and curled up into a tighter circle.. sigh...

I guess it is a lazy day for him..

He has to poop
Come on, Artie! You can do it!
Love the cheerleaders!!  That is kind of how I have been with him...

I guess, it being a Sunday, we got our prayers and cheers answered!!   Artie POOPED!!!  a big one!!

I was comfy, on the sofa, watching TV. He must have gone into the litter box, without me knowing it.. all I know is suddenly, he had the Zoomies all over the place!!  He has not done that for so long. I cannot remember the last time he had zoomies...

Of course, I put my program on pause and chased him! I could not understand why, but I went with it..

A while later, after he was back in his quilt/tent, I got up and looked at his litter box. He had a 7 x 3/4 inch poop in there!! along with a pee clump...

I cannot tell you how good I felt.. and he continued to eat.. He is such a good  boy today!!

It is nice, warm, toasty, inside while I look out the balcony doors and watch the slush come down.. a mix of rain and some snow... weird...not all rain, but the snow on the ground is melting...

Good job Artie!  And @artiesmom  as you are Artie's hero who has fine-tuned his medications to a dosage that seems to be finally settling his system. Vibes for continued success ...
You are too too kind.. I had a lot of help from some people here.....and a lot of support.. fingers crossed for the future..

Once I decided I was on my own, and had to scientifically find a solution, my mind was free-er to take learned advice from some experienced people on this site.... and to forget about the S Vet completely.... once I knew I had the N Vet, I felt a load off my mind and the ability to focus on things systematically.... I am not taking credit for any success.... I am giving the credit and thanks to the people who have been here with me.. I hope they know who they are....

We are still not out of the woods yet, and his N Vet appointment is 9 days away.....fingers still crossed...

That's so great! You're on the right track now and I hope there are no further problems. Good to see the N vet just to make sure. I'm so happy for you!

You should take credit for the success.  Learning to take advice is the first step to succeeding.  Don't sell yourself short... xoxo

I'm glad you're doing better as well as sweet Artie.

Sorry I haven't been posting, just lurking.  BUT I do have a good excuse.

This will make you laugh, I hope.

Last Thursday I was scheduled for a colonoscopy (my doctor is Upstate), so I half started the colon prep Tuesday so I could sit on the Metro North Train without having to attract attention (if you know what I mean),

then with the blizzard like conditions here, I had to cancel.  Sooooooo, I did log on and lurk, but seeing the word POOP written so many times, made me run to the bathroom, LOLOLOL.

Needless to say, I know how sweet Artie is doing.  And I'm happy to say, I lost about 7lbs, but the thought of having to go through that again next month is making my sphincter clinch.

Smooches for Artie and Big Big HUGS to you.  xoxoHope
