It's in the low 80's gray and rainy.  It was this way yesterday and supposed to continue for several more days.

today we are expecting storms. I woke up, 30 minutes ago to the sun shining. Right now it is cloudy and getting darker and darker. It is 70 degrees with very high humidity.

Today will be in the 80's with high humidity.. ugh....

We are in a drought. We are 7 inches below normal...terrible...

It was raining this morning when I left for work, a nice, steady rain. Unfortunately, it has stopped already, but we keep hoping for more. It's nice and grey outside, so hopefully that wasn't all of the rain for today. About 74 degrees with another high expected into the low 90s. T-storms expected throughout the day. Humidity is simply horrid. It's really sticky. Up where Rick works, they're bringing out bottles and bottles and bottles of icy water for their employees and the fans are on all over the factory. Rick doesn't normally sweat that much, but even he's coming home from work with a t-shirt he could wring out.

Our drought isn't as bad as yours, @Artiemom; I think we are "only" down about 3.5 inches or so.

When I opened the window this morning it felt like opening an oven door.

Right now it is beautiful out. 82 degrees but there is a nice breeze. I shut the act off and opened the door and window. I need some air. Sitting in the partial shade right now. I could be lazy and sit here all day. Listening to the leaves in the trees rustle in the wind. Gorgeous day. Sunny. Clyde in sky. Summer day

Sometimes I wish we had real WEATHER here, there is nothing to  report here, same old same old. Usually we get a few thunderstorms in August and it will rain really hard ---  for about 15 minutes, just enough to wash all the dust off the trees and plants, and for a few people to slither all over the road crashing into each other because the streets get slick with the water sitting on top of the road dirt. Kids will run outside to get wet, Dads are fussing because now their freshly washed cars are all spotty again and people like me are wondering if we need to water the garden or was that enough? Nah, that will wet the ground about 1/4 of an inch, it won't do a thing about relieving the drought.

We won't get WEATHER here until about November, if then, otherwise we just have CLIMATE. 85 here today, humidity at 65, a few breaths of wind.

A selfie taken moments ago.  This weather is the pits.

Years ago I laughed at my grandmother for wetting kitchen hand towels then freezing them and sticking them under her boobs.  She warned me, one day I would do the same.

Damn you Grandma, I say as I stick ice packs in my bra. LOL  may you rip.

It's been so bad that there's no relief at the ocean.  Can't wait for Autumn in New York, it's the best time of the year.

Hot town, summer in the city
Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty
Been down, isn't it a pity
Doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city

All around, people looking half dead
Walking on the sidewalk, hotter than a match head

No truer lyrics have ever been written.

Stay hydrated people.  Hope everyone is well.

This is why I ask people why they think living in NYC is so great, apart from sky-high rents in tiny mouse holes they call apartments. There are people living here who are here only 6 months out of the year and they always say they can't wait to get back to the Big Apple. With snow up to here in the winter and high temps and humidity in the summer can someone explain to me what is so great about living in NYC and its surroundings? Just wondering.

Not to get off topic too much, but I grew up here, so for me I still think of it as it was up until 2004.  It's changed dramatically since then.  Hollywood moved in "paps" and the apartments being built are for those with money.  It's not "the people's" city anymore.  I now live in Queens and love my neighborhood, but it too is changing, although I can't give up rent controlled apt.

There is still a vibe that's undeniable, unlike any other city I've visited.  Can't explain it.

The temp says 77 degrees here, but I do not believe it!!

I opened the windows when I got up, it was so nice.. I could smell the ocean.. sunny, beautiful... I thought it was going to be a gorgeous day..

After I steam mopped the small area at the entrance/laundry area, took a shower, I was soaking wet! I went down to get a couple large bags of litter from the trunk.. came up, and I was sweating again... I had to put the ac back on....

Perhaps, this afternoon when the sun moves from my side of the building, and I am in the shade, I will be happier....

I think we may actually be over the "hump" of the hot weather season! Woohoo! High of 79 today, low of 60 tonight (guess who will be sleeping with windows open tonight??) and weather looks pretty good going forward. Normal lows, highs that aren't too high. Love it.

Hey there @Donutte, the "weather people" said that we are supposed to get cold winds from Chicago...  So I thank you in advance for your cool breeze. LOL  It's been brutal with the humidity here in the north east.

How about sending some of that rain over here!  We're dealing with a bunch of wildfires in California.
Today it's dreary out, only about  60F and overcast with a mix of clouds and smoke.
