Here she is compared to one of her brothers
Mama cat keeps licking the milk off her face. She kept trying to drink it too as I was feeding the baby.
Also the baby doesn't seem as distressed when I fed her this time around. I think she's figuring out that were trying to help.

She's tiny. It's good she took the milk better this time. Since mama likes the milk, you can give her some in a dish. It's good for nursing moms too!

She was crying and panting really hard so I figured she was hot and I set her in front of the fan and she's not crying anymore. Her breathing has slowed down a lil but she's still really hot. It's almost 100 today and around 80 in my apartment. Is there anyway I can cool her down? I don't want her to get too cold but she's obviously not comfortable in this heat.

I have two window units but my apartment has horrible insulation. I held her in front of one of the units for a bit it I didn't want her to get too cold. She seemed to like it though and put her face toward the air.

Honestly, if it's that hot, I would turn on the window units. At this point, you really need to cool down your apartment since the cats seem distressed. They won't get too cold. At least turn them on for awhile.

The window units are on. We have the apartment sectioned off so the back is way hotter than the front. I have the cats in the front. She feels a lot hotter than her siblings. Right now I have her on a pillow in front of the fan and she's doing much better. She's breathing normal now.

Keep an eye on her. I hope she doesn't have fever. Poor baby! I'm glad your units are on. [emoji]128077[/emoji]

I got some ice in a bag and put a washcloth over it and out her on top of it. She seems to get agitated when someone tries to touch her, but she gets distressed and starts crying when someone's not near her. I think she just wants some comfort right now but my skin is warm so maybe it makes her uncomfortable :(
I gave mama kitty some milk and she drank it all up and licked the bowl clean.

Since the kitten is only one week old, she really needs to stay with her mom and litter mates unless you are feeding her. She is too little to be out of the nest for long.

Do you have mom and babies in the cooler part of the house? That would be ideal.

Yes they are right by my bed. I put her in the box with her siblings. She's breathing heavy again. :( but her siblings are around the compress and she seems to not be as irritated. I moved one of the babies closer to her to comfort her and I guess they dint like the compress. They are around it but none of them will lay on top on it.

What about a regular fan, something to keep the air moving and circulating.  Do you have any ceiling fans?

The heavy breathing is alarming. When did it start? I'm worried that she may have inhaled goat milk into her lungs during feeding.

Uh I'm not sure. She was panting and heavy breathing. She's doing it again and she started crying out. I picked her up for a little bit then her mom came over and she seemed like she wanted to be near her. Mama went into the box so I put her in there so mama started licking her.
I held her up to my ear and I think maybe your right. :( she has this weird wet noise every time she breaths, like someone with pneumonia would have.

She needs antibiotics or she won't make it. Can you get her to a clinic?

i have no money for it and when I told my family they just looked at me like I was crazy. :( I don't think I can convince them. They really don't seem to care at all.

I'm sorry to hear that. She won't make it though. Did she choke during feeding?

I'm pretty sure she didn't. I tried to feed her again and she wouldn't eat it. She only swallowed some of it. Most of it dropped out of her mouth and onto the washcloth.

She was already lethargic before you got the goat milk. She probably won't eat any more for you. She's too sick. Just keep her as comfortable as you can. She is going to pass away. I'm sorry. [emoji]128546[/emoji]
