Well, if it is babbling that you want, I'm a past master at it!  Which is a little funny, because in person I tend to be a bit shy and quiet...at least until you get to know me, then all bets are off!

What number are we up to now?

for some reason, I cannot focus on the instructions...old age...and having to pee...LOL!

@artiesmom I am so in touch with that!  And let me be the first to say that old age and having to pee do go hand-in-hand!  I keep telling people DO NOT make me laugh without warning!  Things could get bad, as in, "How long can you tread water, Noah?" bad...

@DreamerRose   I'm glad you enjoy them.  I actually post very much in the same way I talk.  And that can vary with what I'm reading at the time.  Although, in person, the very first thing you would notice is probably an insane South Georgia drawl.  I'm from Geawhga, and I can drawl, ya'll!  Now, be advised, ya'll is ALWAYS PLURAL!  Most Yankees and other non-Southerners seem to think we use if in the singular.  Oh, no.  The singular form of "ya'll" is "Hon," "Darlin," "SweetiePie," and the ever popular "Sugah."  Why do we seem to all use these terms of endearment?  Because our brains have mildewed from the humidity, and we can't remember proper names for squat.

Hey, there, Geawhga. I birthed all my babies in Adlanna. So Ah know the difference between "you" and "you all". People heah in the Nawth immediately think Ah'm from the Deep South, but actually, Ah'm from Nawth'n Virginny. Maybe that's why I like your posts so much - you sound like home.

We say "Hey" too, instead of "Hi." Y'all up heah nevah caught on to that. "Y'all" is a sight better than "youse guys."

so many celebrities are passing... what is going on? or is it just me being at that  age group...

I was shocked to hear about Prince. And then I heard his age. 57...when did he get to be 57? I still picture him a 20 year old...
Yes, it's just that we're in that age group.

I am continually shocked that I have friends who have never seen a man walk on the moon except in documentaries, or who don't have first-hand memories of the Challenger explosion.

And, no, I can't picture a 57 year old Prince, either.

Line from a made-for-T.V. movie I saw recently:  "She's a nice enough person, but when I asked where she was when Kennedy was shot she said, 'Ted Kennedy was shot?!' "

Bless your heart.

Kudos to David Bowie and Prince. Two people who walked their own path and never looked for a box to get in . or out of. Often imitated , never duplicated. Always be your own self. Whatever that is at the moment.

Hey @Kat0121  , thank you for that wonderful nugget of information back there.
   Very interesting.

Mouse is taking revenge on me right now - I moved him off the dining chair earlier so I could make some earrings sitting at my dining table - he moved off and snuggled in to my comfy chair....  Now I'm finished making the earrings, he's not finished snuggling up in the comfy chair, and I am sitting  on a leg-rest like a pixie with a numb posterior.
I feel too guityt about moving him off one chair earlier on to go moving him again and the leg rest is nicely lined up to see the TV while typing away on my lap top.
Roll on the delivery of the new sofa I've got on order, then there will be comfy places for all.

@Margret  - I took one of those quizzes that show up on Facebook about "How Much Do You Know about American History?"  About 95% of the questions were about events that occurred in my lifetime. That's what I call current events, not history. Anything that happened in my lifetime is current.

When I was in high school, we were taught nothing about World War II, and I wondered why for years until it finally occurred to me that all the adults had lived through "the War" and nobody needed to be told about it.

Prince isn't the only celebrity who's death was announced today. China from the WWE (I think she was only 47) also passed away. I'm not into the WWE nor am I a fan. Just think it's sad.

I've had party like is 1999 stuck in my head all day

Yay!  A babbling thread!  I remember the one last year - I was still a new member and it was a terrific way to meet people and get to know them.

I'm also feeling sad about Prince.   Hopefully he's having a nice chat with David Bowie somewhere.

Happy Passover to our Jewish members and to everyone else too (never hurts to have a happy day, does it?)

Any plans for the weekend? We had a big hike planned but my 12yo came down with some bug two days ago. He's doing fine now but he definitely became dehydrated from all the vomiting, so I want to give him another day or two to fully recover before attempting a 10K hike. Also, it's hot here (Israel) this weekend, so probably best to wait for a cooler day. Hopefully we'll still get a cool day or two before November...

I'm working over the weekend (as usual) but no doubt Mouse will be demanding some play time when I'm home.  He's been bouncing about very happily this morning because I was up at 7.30 am, way earlier than usual.  He's sweet and usually stays on the bed with me until I get up but if I get up early he races about like crazy.  Probably because he gets something to eat before he's starving.
Of course he is back on my bed now as he's had some food and a bit of a run about; I may well not see him move from his cozy spot before I head out in a couple of hours.

For all those getting together with family or friends for Passover, have a lovely time.

Happy Friday and Happy Passover to our Jewish members.

Very shocked to hear about Prince. I saw Purple Rain on the first date I was ever on. I never went out with the guy again bc my "best friend" (hmph) at the time wanted me to date a friend of hers. But I liked the guy who had asked me out, though there were no fireworks. I truly think we'd have married, or at least maybe. We knew each other, and had similar backgrounds. As it stands, I never married. Not sure if he did. Damn my lack of courage in not standing up to my so called best friend, who was and still is a toxic pos. Thirty years later, I still live with the regret. Tmi?

Hey, it's the Babble Thread.. no such thing as Tmi.

I was sad to hear of Prince's death too.. I remember my loud renditions of Purple Rain that used to drive my family a little mad.  A great musician.

The Party Pooper has arrived again! :woo: Time for another rules reminder it seems.

1. Minimum of 15 words per post. Don't bother with counting words. Just make sure your posts are longer than one line and you should be ok.
5. No consecutive posts. You can't add a reply if yours is the last post in the thread. If anyone starts talking to themselves to speed things up, they risk getting banned from this thread.
I'm highlighting the two above.

Happy Passover!

Mogli just got a little package in the mail - a dozen "jingle mousies". He loves toy mice, but only the ones with real fur and bells or rattles inside. They've gotten hard to find, but ebay came through. I guess people don't want to buy real bunny fur. Mogli eats rabbit and hare cat food, so it doesn't seem like a big deal.

Good Morning to all!

Happy Passover to all our Jewish Friends!

I did not get much sleep last night! I was tossing and turning, pushing  Artie off me all night. He was bothering me all night. He was cuddled up, like a slab of cement, next to my legs. I could not move them. I found myself in a position where I had a stiff neck. I was up at 3AM!

He followed me onto the recliner, jumped on my lap, and we both stretched out and fell asleep for a bit.

Finally, I went to bed. He was very indignant that I woke him up. He proceeded to come back to bed with me, and cuddle.

Then at 6:00am, he decided that I had enough sleep! He started with the tap, tap, on the shoulder. I ignored him, then it was a loud MEOW in the ear! I stayed still. He then proceeded to walk all over me, twice!! I still ignored him, another Meow!! another walk!

He finally got the hint and curled up on a pillow.

Fifteen minutes later, he started the entire cycle, AGAIN!!

Ugh!!
I had to get up at that point!

Now I am up, swollen, itchy eyes from allergies...and tired as all heck...

I think a nap is in order today.. and an easy day...

Amazon still sells mousies with real fur that rattle. I put a couple of packs of these in the Christmas box for the shelter kitties.

Sophie was being extra snuggly last night. She wanted lots of hugs and pets and received them. My sweet baby girl
