Hi, everyone.............I have a cat with this disease for several years.  have done it all, tooth removal, steroids, laser, everything.

The steroids, of course, can have side effects, much time after using it.  Traditional vets are too much in a box.  I have spent thousands on this cat, and the help comes from an antibiotic, for about $30.00 / month.

Good news!!!!  About a year ago, I saw an older info page that said a Dr. Wiggs, in Texas, found a way to control it.  Well, he died a fews years ago, so I called all over Texas to find a vet that worked with him. I found one, a woman, Dr. Bloom.

I got to talk with her and my vet called her.  We are treating my cat with low dose minocycline. and it is working, noticed a difference within a few days.    My cat has been on this about a year, is not 100%, but is eating well and socializing some.

We recently upped the dosage abit since her throat is a bit inflamed.   She is holding her own.

So, if I were you, don't spend the thousands removing teeth, etc.  Try this .  See if it works.   GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Thanks for the info.  We are aware of Dr. Wiggs, and of his passing, and have several threads about the "dallas syrup"

It's always nice to hear of another cat that has been helped by this

Does anyone know if the minocycline is combined with another drug for more effective treatment?     or has anyone had another success with this drug?
