Oh, my! Poor soul! Hopefully the vet can set it and give antibiotics and pain meds. She surely got herself in a scrape. I'll bet she's starving too. Of course you'll keep her inside with her kittens now. I'm wondering if her milk is all gone. She also may have gotten herself pregnant again on this excursion.

Please post an update as soon as you have information! Glad she's back though! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

OK so the vet isn't on until another hour I have her in a room on her own she ate load of food and drink fair bit of water I just wonder what happened. Do you think she will reject her kittens from being away from them for so long [emoji]128550[/emoji]

I think they will reunite, but it's doubtful she'll be feeding them. She won't feel up to it, and may be on meds, and her milk may be dried up. The kittens will surely want to cuddle her, and she can clean them and teach manners. We'll see what happens after she's back from the vet. Can you post a picture of her? Is she dragging that leg, or just limping, or is it twisted?

It's sad that she has to lose the leg but yes, she not only can live with 3 legs, she can thrive and do fine. Cats are so resilient. They can bounce back from a lot more than people think. If the vet feels that this is the bes thing for her, then I'd do it.

Why can't she live inside?? Is it because it would hurt your daughter to see her with one of her legs missing? with proper care, she will be just fine.

Your daughter is allergic, right? Have you tried lots of different allergy meds? And keeping the cat out of her bedroom? There may be options. She will need to be an indoor cat.

I wonder if she could be spayed at the same time?

She is severely allergic, like if the cat is in the house for 20 minutes. She will get a congested nose her eyes will get all watery and swollen around them and she can't taste food she is on strong allergy meds and the doctor just told her keep away from cats that's all she can do [emoji]128550[/emoji]

OK. Well that makes sense. That's a bummer. You can try using an air purifier in the house to cut down on dander. I use this one

My DD's friend stayed with us for a few days recently and I got the air purifier for that because she is allergic. I have 3 cats. She seemed to not have any reaction to them. She was in my DD''s room mostly though and the cats are not allowed in there. it was probably a mix of each. The purifier is near her bedroom door.

I might try that yes I'm going to leave her inside with the kittens for a little while anyway and I'll see how she reacts I won't leave her near her room and give her some time outside and if her allergies aren't bad with them we will leave her inside and semi outside which I think is the best I could do. I'll let ye know how she gets on with her op tomorrow evening. I'll be getting her spayed as soon as the vet recommends.

If you have carpeting, frequent vacuuming can help. With hard floors, the Swiffer sweeper works well. You can also use wet wipes made for cats to give the cats a non wet bath too. I use these

They are called Tushie Wipes but they are safe to use on other areas. They are safe for cats, dogs, puppies and kittens.

She should not be allowed outside until she is spayed. She can get pregnant again already.

Ask the vet if he can try to save the leg before amputating it. What is the reason for cutting it off? Is he unable to set it properly?

She must stay in the house while she recovers.

He said there was three options the first one he gave it a name which I'm after forgetting but I'm guessing it was to put the leg back together. He then explained the better option is to amputate it. He didn't really give a reason why he just said it's the easiest and she will get used to having three legs. He also said it's probably infected by the smell of it. He said we should be taking her home tomorrow evening and he was very forward about amputating it.
The third option was put to sleep but I said no.

Sad. She'll get around fine on 3 legs though. Is it a front or back leg?
