Hmm. Did it just start? Does it look like dried blood? Is she contracting at all?

Things are good! She's eating alotttttt a lot. Using the restroom normally sleeping through the night (which she hasn't been) no apparent discharge as of now.

Her rectal temp is 99.0 F on the dot. I have stopped taking it for awhile but she has been acting strange lately so I took it.. Should I be expecting babies soon? Still no milk, she is eating a lot and nesting still. She's been nesting since we got her on the 14th of March.

Temperature is not the most reliable indicator, but it sounds as though labor is coming very soon. Her milk may come in before or after delivery. Sounds like she is getting ready! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

If you must take her temperature, take it under her foreleg and add 3 degrees.  the poor cat must be so uncomfortable as it is.

The waiting is hard.

I'm just worried bc she was a stray outside 24/7 around other animals and I'd hate for something to go wrong or I fear something is wrong. I don't want to stress her into a cage to go to a vet. And idk she seems pretty comfortable to me. I would never force her to take the temp she literally just sits there calmly no worries and like I said I haven't done it in a few days. I also do not know what a "dropped" belly is... Could someone explain his to me??

Dropping is when the kittens begin to move into a lower position closer to the birth canal in preparation for delivery. This means they "drop" down from mom's sides into spaces in her lower hind quarters, closer to her lady parts. When this happens, a pregnant cat appears to look less bulgy on her sides. It usually happens 2-3 days before labor begins. However, the pregnant stray I took in last year never appeared to drop, but she was huge! It's more evident in some cats than others, and is one more sign of impending birth. [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Hey all, i have a previous thread about a pregnant stray I took in on March the 14th. She was showing when I got her. She's been nesting since I got her. Today I looked in her litter box to see what I believe is a mucus plug but I could use opinions. Her vulva is also wet with brownish pink liquid and she is acting strange.. Any suggestions? And yes that is food in there she puts it in her box sometimes..

Given that she was showing on the 14th would it add up? It being almost 3 weeks assuming she was AT LEAST 5 when I got her?

Awesome! Like i said in my previous post this is my first time so as Im over looking her birthing process I will be on here asking questions unless a vet is open at the time of delivery.... Only this is she's not cleaning up the mess on herself.. Should I wipe it for her? I have some wipes I purchased specifically for cats.

Why didn't you spay her? Or are you breeding for profit?

EDIT: oh she was a stray :lol3:

Yes had it been my cat she would have been spayed. Only reason I took her in is saving her and all of her babies from being euthanized.. I already know the whole shebang about the kitten population etc.....
