Still have the cords [emoji]128522[/emoji] she just moved them into the spot I made for her in the closet! Can she not get comfortable with a spot or what lol. I'm worried the closet will be to cold. I put a space heater near the door.

My kittens hardly cry. There's one that does when it fights over a teat. And when mom leaves they whimper a little while snuggling close together. Or if mom moves them. Is this a sign that they are good and eating well? My worry is that they aren't getting enough milk. They don't seem as fast now to get to mom's teats. Like the first day or two it looked like a race and they were starving. I guess I'm looking at it as if no crying then all is well...but then I get a nervous that I don't hear them and think something is wrong.

Yes, it can be difficult to know if everything is excellent and all happy, or they are conserving their strengh and are on the verge of dying.

But the recipe is easy: weigh them every day. If they gain what they shall or better - you can happily wait and see.

If they dont - you must energetically step in....

Of course, if you can manually notice they apparently gain and are thriwing, it is good enough.   :)   But many not so experienced dont manage to see for sure just by eye and touch, so weighinng is safest for most.

What kind of scale do I use? I have one that only does pounds. I'm afraid if I handle them mom will keep moving them ect. They seem to all nurse at the same time and fall asleep together. There bell's do seem a little rounder except the runt. They are yawning and opening there mouth when they sleep. Mom has moved them twice in one day. My boyfriend keeps telling me to leave them alone. But I only peek on her a few times to make sure there alive, nursing and doing ok..

It's okay. She should settle in any day now. Space heater is good. Cats usually move their kittens 2 or 3 times. Are the kittens all nursing well?

Usually, if they're warm, squirmy, and have round bellies, they're fine. If they feel cold, are lethargic, and have sunken bellies, that's bad. They've probably worked out which nipples they each use by now, and that's why they aren't fighting/jostling anymore.

To weigh them, a small postal or kitchen scale is best. It's better to weigh in grams because it's easier to see a clear gain rather than try to work out fractions of ounces, lol. They should gain at least 6-10 grams per day.

I believe they are. I don't hear any crying. I checked on them early this morning before she moved them and they were nursing. And checked a little bit ago in the new spot and they were nursing. I hope she's getting enough milk in. It's only day 3. They do sleep a lot too. And starting to yawn.

The best way to make sure your kittens are doing well is to weigh them every day. That way you know that they are gaining the appropriate amount of weight and thriving.

Sounds excellent! Just be sure mom has 24/7 access to dry kitten chow, water, and wet food several times a day. She needs it to make good milk!

Should I move the food into the closet?

Outside the closet is fine for mom's food.

They look okay. I see you opened a new thread. You need to weigh them at the same time each day. It sounds like they are nursing well, but weighing is the only way to know for sure. You should buy a can of powdered kitten formula, called KMR, and also a 1 or 2 mL syringe to have on hand for supplementing if necessary. I prefer PetAg, GNC, or Royal Canin KMR. No Hartz or Sergeants.

Yes I did. I bought some KMR yesterday just in case but not the powdered one. I will look into getting a scale cause I don't have one that weighs ounces and grams.

The sooner you weigh them the sooner we can advise. They look tiny in the picture! But you'll feel better and stop worrying so much if you know their weights. Mom can pick up on your stress. [emoji]128522[/emoji]

The pre-mixed is nasty and causes tummy upset. You need powdered. Please get a digital scale at Walmart that weighs in ounces so we'll know!

Ok will do! They are pretty tiny but normal newborn size. If I start supplement formula will mom stop nursing? How often should I feed them if necessary?
