So i tried moving the kitties and mama into a bigger nesting area bc the other one was small. But the mama cat hates the bigger area and kept going back to the original box. I put them all back into the original spot....do you think she will reject them because i moved them!? She is still laying right outside the box though. I feel bad bc i was trying to help her. :(

Not at all. She will get right back into that box with her kittens when it's time to feed - you'll see! Just leave her be for now. She'll like the bigger box later on! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Another thought - can you make the area she is currently in the bigger area? Not sure what moving them entailed. Was it just a change of box, or a change of location, or both?

It was just a box change. She was just with again. So im happy now and she seems to have settled down! Im glad. I also was able to make the original box a little more spacious i just put some of the blankets on the floor right outside her box. She seems pleased with it for now. :) Also the kitties dont meow a lot. Thats normals right!? I think i read that when they do it means they arent eating enough. They weigh 5.45oz as of 2 days ago. Ill be weighing them again on wednesday!

Use a warm damp cloth to soften the crusty stuff and wipe it away.  It could  be 'sleepy' stuff or it could be an infection.  Keep an eye on it and wash your hands off after wiping the eye.  If if shows up in both eyes, use a different part of the cloth so you are not spreading it around.  It it is an infection, you will need to get terramycin ointment from the vet.

I did notice one of the others kitties who is opening its eyss has a little water clear tearing. Is this normal? Its not like mucous or colored funny. Just wondering. They all seem to be eating fine but only 1 kitty has opened its eyes completely. The other 3 have only just started and they are 12 days old. My newbie kitten nerves are going off again. Lmaoo

The eyes will all open eventually! The clear that you are seeing should be fine - probably just the tear ducts working. [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Hey everyone quick update and some advice needed. So the kitties are now 23 days old! Mama cat today insisted on moving the babies outta the walk in closet and now they are at the end of our bed. I put a comforter down for thwm too. Im just curious as to why she moved them. They are completely out in the open now. Any theories or ideas? Plus how can i keep the area litter free once the kittes start using a box. My apartment is only 700sqft and i wanna try to avoid a mess. Lol

Good old mama kitty! She knows they will get their food from you and she's bringing them to you to help socialize them and ask you for help. All good domestic cats do this right around the 3-week mark. It's a compliment to you!

Just line your floor with towels or doggie pee pads and get used to the invasion! Try to enjoy it! [emoji]128522[/emoji]
