My cat sat on my chest through an entire night while contracting, then jumped up suddenly in the early morning, ran to her nest, gave a huge meow, and delivered her first kitten. Delivered 3 more over the next 3 hours. She was in stage one labor a good 24 hours. Stage two is pushing.

Things sound like they are progressing normally. Your cat is looking to you for comfort.

Hang in there, but if you need to get up, get up and do what you need to do, and then sit with her.

The vet called me back and said it sounds like she is in labor. I also have my vet tech friend coming over in an hour to look at her

You have a very good vet.  And you are not annoying.  Read some thread here, you're just anxious like most new grandparents.

It won't hurt for the kitten to nurse. It may help her labor along. She's in the "mothering" mode.

Does she seem like she is in distress?

Some members have wondered if their cats had braxton hicks contractions.

She seems uncomfortable but not in distress she is doing the flopping thing again. Is it possible for them to have braxton hicks?
