I've been feeding my boys the Instinct chicken kibble and the duck/turkey kibble on a rotating basis, and I wanted to throw something else into the mix. My pickiest guy's favorite (non-fish) canned food is the Wild Calling rabbit, so I went to look at the Instinct rabbit kibble. Peas as the fifth ingredient! In fact, peas are listed before they're even finished listing all the meat! Neither of the poultry kibbles have peas in them, which is part of why I chose them to begin with. I don't care for ingredients like that, inflating the protein content and not really benefiting my cats. I don't mind pea fiber as a binder, but I try to avoid whole peas or pea protein.

I'm also hoping to find something with no fish because the Instinct kibbles all have Menhaden Fish Meal and I try to limit their fish intake. We rotate canned/raw food for lunch and I never give them fish more often than every other day.

I'm open to a wide variety of protein sources (not beef, venison, or lamb, which have caused some or all of my cats to vomit within half an hour the only times we've tried them) but I was hoping to find a rabbit kibble if there's one available since they all seem to really like it in canned food.

I can't offer any help but if you find a kibble that does not have peas in it let me know. I have a cat that is allergic to anything with peas in it, most if not all kibble that is grain free has peas in it.

She can't have soy either so that leaves out even the cheap grocery store brands.

Good luck in your search.

If she can handle poultry, the Instinct chicken and duck/turkey might work for you. No peas there!

Nature's Logic makes a rabbit kibble. http://natureslogic.com/products/cat-products/feline-dry-kibble-rabbit/ Note it is not grain-free. They use millet and have a writeup as to why they think millet (which is the most grass-like grain) is possibly more appropriate than things like potato, sweet potato, peas, etc. Personally given the amount of transparency these folks have shown, I at least trust the food to be what it says and that they believe in what they are saying rather than it just being marketing BS. I've also grown to figure that it doesn't matter a whole lot if a dry kibble is grain-free or not given the potato and such that is used instead, although I still would shy away from corn or wheat. Although I say all that as someone who doesn't actually feed dry food to his own cats.

Nature's Logic also creates their formulas without the use of synthetic vitamin and mineral supplements. From a practical standpoint this means the later part of the ingredient list will be long on small portions of dried vegetable matter. I'm not entirely sure what to think of this approach but I have considered feeding their canned food and have fed their kibble as treats recently when I got a sample bag at a store event back in the summer.

Oh wait there is a small amount of the menhaden fish meal lower in the list. Sigh. That might not even work then.

Ziwipeak has kibble, they called it "air dried" in Lamb, Beef, and Venison that don't contain any peas. It's good stuff, but really expensive. I feed it mixed with Orijen kibble as a snack in between meals. My cats really like it.

Thanks for the suggestion! Lamb, beef, and venison don't agree with my cats' tummies, sadly. They throw up.
