Phew. She's keeping me on my toes. After everything that's happened, every little thing makes me worry. I called our vet this morning to make sure I could give a full dose of pain meds while she's nursing. They said yes, as long as kittens remain alert. Then I called them again to make sure it was normal for her teets to be warmer than the rest of her body. They said yes. The mammary tissue will always remain warm/hot while nursing frequently and to watch for swelling or clogged milk ducts. Then i called them back because she was breathing fast but her lungs sound great, her voice is back and the rapid breathing is mainly when nursing. They said of course she's breathing fast. She's in pain. [emoji]128518[/emoji] they're probably sick of me by now. I didn't want to call again.

After what they charged you!  Call all you want!  What did they say when you told them you found orphan kittens for her to nurse?

Well, I tried to tell you she needed her pain meds ...

I'm glad she's eating well. Did the kittens actually lap the KMR from the dish? If so, that is great!

I called our regular vet. I'll never listen to the emergency vet again. I gave her half doses of pain meds all day yesterday and she was getting around great but she slowed down today. Half dose wasn't enough. The kittens kind of slurped, fell in, and wrestled in it. So I guess polka technically got some kmr. She had to dry butterscotch and the still unnamed Siamese.

I love it when they are learning how to lap up the milk. I guess how ever she can get the KMR in her works.

Sad news, Daisy May cannot be Daisy May. HE will need a much stronger name. [emoji]128518[/emoji]

Lol! We already named one Miss Dusty. So, daisy may will now be Jackson. Named after Janet Jackson who has a beauty mark above her lip, just like former Daisy May.

So far, I've only posted 4 solo kittens. They're really difficult to get shots of. There is Miss Dusty, Jackson, Mona Lisa, and Butter Scotch. I still have a Siamese we named Pearl and an orange one we haven't named yet.

LoL, the two Siamese / colourpoints look very forward and full of energy in your video.
Very very cute, and where Polka reaches out to put her paw in your hand is lovely.   Jackson is certainly showing a strong purrsonality in your video and photos, funny with the name change.
The little ginger kit' looks like fun too.

They are all so much fun. Their personalities are shining through already. Jackson seems to have been the runt and he is very pushy and stubborn. Mona Lisa, the white one, is very laid back and quiet. The two Siamese are VERY loud and demanding. They cry about everything. Both orange boys are hyper and mischievous. They don't listen to polka at all and get sat on frequently.

Class!    I love these guys.   Mouse used to get sat on by his mom all the time  (actually she had to paw-handle him on to his back and pin him down with her full body weight).  So much fun to watch.  I hope you're managing to take plenty of videos, I love watching the one I have of Mouse and his mom doing this.

I'm definitely taking lots of videos. I'll miss these boogers when they're gone. The last one has been spoken for now. How ridiculous is it that I still have 8 weeks or so with these guys and I'm already sad thinking about them leaving?! The trauma of the past couple days has taken a toll on me I think.

@sweetlynn86   Don't be surprised if it all catches up with you quite a while later, when things settle down and even possibly when the kittens move on and not there to entertain you.  It's been traumatic enough reading about everything, never mind what it must have been like living through it all.  You totally deserve the praise everyone has been giving you here.

Thank you. :) I fully anticipate that it'll sneak back up on me again. Polka is going back to the vet tomorrow to get checked out. I don't like that she's breathing so fast. She's eating great, moving around, using the litterbox and acting completely normal except for breathing fast while nursing. Id rather just make sure it's pain related and not infection though.
