Good luck with your yoga, Columbine; I hope it helps you.

I don't blame you for being indoors, JTbo. When those winds are really bad, it's for the best.

3.75 miles walked during lunch today.

Oh Columbine that sounds awful. Glad to hear you have straightened up.
I missed posting yesterday. That was chest and biceps.
Today is Friday and I'm feeling quite good. Usually I've had enough by Friday but my trainer has me eating a ton of food. 45% of my diet is carbs and they are giving me energy and making me feel great. The extra carbs will also give my body the extra energy it needs to grow bigger muscles and yes they will make me a little fat. What's important to me now is muscle growth so I'm giving this a really good crack. Speaking of which - I am headding out to my shed for my second workout today. Abs and shoulders.

I hope it stops snowing Norachan.
Enjoy your exercising everybody.

Thanks Tammat :) I'm used to it, but it doesn't make it any less painful/frustrating when it does happen.

Are you training for something in particular? Your workouts always sound pretty hardcore to me. I'm tired just reading about them ;)

The yoga yesterday was a stronger (more challenging) set than I realised. Very sore today, so just went for a gentle 30min walk with my greyhound. First properly warm day of the year :woohoo:

I hope I'll be able to get back to my pony soon. I just hope she doesn't try to dump me this time  To be fair to her, she's a sweetie really. My instructor says that she's one of the best (most talented) horses she's ever ridden, but also one of the most challenging! If you stop focusing for a moment Collie knows it, and decides that she's in charge! I've always ridden ex racehorses (sometimes not long out of racing too) but this little exmoor has them all beaten when it comes to cheek and inventiveness :lol3: She's also the biggest speed freak I've ever come across. At least it never gets boring...

Good to hear you're recovered now Tammat and Winchester

Still no formal exercise, but spent 4 hours sorting my room out for Asha...her new cat tree came today and I had to make space. Also created a safe haven on top of my built in wardrobe for her. This involved lots of going up and down step ladders, ladders and stairs, lifting down three heavy boxes, sorting through them and lifting one back, vacuuming, cleaning, dusting, sorting two big bags of clothes for charity, and finally carrying the new (almost) 2 metre tall cat tree up in pieces and assembling it. Definitely got a sweat on doing it all.

Ungrateful so and so won't even look at all I've done for her...grr...
She'd better decide she likes it after the time and effort it took

Had a really bad few days with fibro and back spasms pulling my spine out (I'm not kidding...For 48hrs it looked like one arm was 4 inches longer than the other as a result!). Am hoping today was a sign that the worst is over ..for now anyway. Will try to do some yoga tomorrow
That sounds like a pretty hard workout to me. What you need to do is pretend that Asha isn't really supposed to go in that room, then leave the door cracked open so she can sneak in there and explore it by herself. They always enjoy things so much more if they think they're breaking the rules.

We've had some pretty nasty weather this week, so I've been doing little more than an hour of yoga each morning. It's still raining now but I have to go out for a walk, I'm starting to get cabin fever. Just about to grab my wellies and go for a trudge through the woods.

Just done 90mins yoga...but a gentler set than last time. Back spasms are back and I'm off centre again :sigh: At least it's not as bad as before.

Good work everybody. I did my legs today ( Sunday). Then I pulled weeds in my garden that were taller than me until it was too dark to see. I love gardening and most of my garden is neat as a pin. I was very ashamed of those weeds.
Columbine Columbine I'm just training for myself. I was never athletic in my youth and I started running a few years ago and then progressed to body building. Exercise is great. I wish I started earlier.

tammat tammat We're exactly opposite! I rode from 10 years old (progressing Ho my own horses from 13) and most of that time spent long days at the stables doing yard work etc. I got the gym bug at 18/19 and was super fit, regularly doing 3hr sessions and sometimes more. I used to love running (at one point my aim was to do a marathon - my target time would have been four and a half hours) but overtrained and got bad shinsplints that never healed. It all stopped when I went to uni (busy timetable plus 3 jobs), and health probs kicked in soon after, and have got progressively worse over the years. I really miss the old me, and still get frustrated by my limitations.

Anyway...I'm aiming to do more yoga today. Can't decide whether to do a 90mins set or an hour set (kundalini yoga is based around specific sequences with each movement lasting a set amount of time). I'll see what I feel like later on.

Good work, people! Glad you were out and about, Columbine!

3.50 miles walked today during lunch (My mileage is going to start being weird. The township and state are shutting the roads down around us here at work for repaving, traffic signals, and such. I'll do what I can to get my miles in, but with the streets being closed, it could get difficult. Today there were two places shut down on my route. I can make some mileage up on the treadmill, if I have to. Gotta love the warm weather!)

Good job everyone. I had a lovely 90 minute walk on Saturday, in spite of the mud and the rain. Just 30 minutes walk on Sunday, down to feed the ferals that still live near my old place, then 90 minutes yoga on Monday.

@Columbine  I'm so envious that you got to ride your pony. Every time I make plans to go horse riding it snows again. I guess I could take a horse out just for a walk around the lanes, but where's the fun in that? I can't wait for galloping-through-the-forest weather to start again.

3.95 miles walked during lunch today (had I known I was that close to 4 miles, I would have stayed out a couple extra minutes)

I did an hour of yoga then an hour of walking on Tuesday, in the rain and the mud.

(It was uphill both ways and I was barefoot, did I mention that?)

I started off with an hour of yoga yesterday, then at about 5 pm it finally stopped raining so I was able to do 90 minutes walk. I saw loads of deer, a family of about 20 mothers and babies heading uphill. That's a good sign, right? If they are heading up it must mean the weather is going to improve.

And I found a hiking trail I've never noticed before. I didn't have time to explore it properly because it was starting to get dark, but I'm going out this morning to see where it leads. Going to take my camera with me, as protection against bears.

Yesterday (Friday) I did my back, shoulders and triceps.
My shoulders are a bit behind the rest of my development so my programme has changed a little and I have to work harder on my shoulder exercises. rounded shoulders are what I really- really want.
Keep going everybody
I wish you horse riders could teach me to ride. I never had a pony but I wanted one badly. My neighbours would let me ride their horses occasionally but I was pretty terrible. I used to ride with an older lady whose pony was even older and a bit naughty. I fell off and broke my leg. That was the end of that!! Cats are a better animal for me. Maybe a greyhound one day- shh don't tell my husband ;)

Sorry to hear you fell off @Tammat  I've fallen off plenty of times, lots of small bumps and bruises, two concussions and one fractured collar bone, so I'm probably not the best person to teach you how to ride.

Had a great walk on Thursday. Followed a hiking trail for two and a half hours, got a wee bit lost and eventually ended up in the village, so I could do a bit of shopping and get the bus back home. Saw this while I was out, it made me smile.

Spent all day Friday in the garden, planting stuff and making a tree house for the cats.

One hour walk after work this afternoon.
