I'm posting for relatives who work from home and they are interested in preparing home cooked meals for their cats. These 3, 13-15 year old cats are all in different stage kidney failure and one or two have pancreatic problems. I don't want them to have nutritional deficiencies because they said they are feeding maybe around half home cooked half commercial pet food. I don't think they are adding any supplements and I want to find out if maybe they should. Does anyone has any recipes for cooked meals they are willing to share. I have no idea about this stuff and know home cooking can lead to problems down the road if not done right. They do not believe raw food is safe, by the way, and there is no convincing them otherwise.

I don't know if any of the following are appropriate for cats with kidney failure. Please consult the vet or a veterinary nutritionist for more advice and guidance.

An unbalanced homecooked diet should only be fed as a very small portion of the diet, about 10% or so. A homecooked diet isn't as easy as throwing some meat, veggies, etc together.
