Yes we are getting a new stove that matches the fridge. All new cupboards in a medium oak, new

countertops. Backsplash as well.

It's a very small kitchen so knocking the walls down won't work as it's a supporting wall. I just want a

kitchen that will finally be functional! Yay! Were putting even more cupboards in further down. Putting

in all the racking to store things properly. Were on a small budget and my brother in law is doing the

work for us. He's done work for us before and does an excellent job. The cupboards are coming tomorrow

morning, can't wait!!!!!!!

This cupboard is particularly a pain in the you know what! I literally have to get down on my hands

and knees and use a flash light to get anything out of the back corner of it!  Grrrrr!

Good luck on your redo!   We have been redoing our house for several years.  We can only do it bit by bit, as we get some money....

I know it's so expensive. We refinanced our mortgage and got the $$$ that way. We still have to rip out the rugs upstairs and lay down laminate. We also fixed up the stone walkway at the

side of the house. Looks so much better.

Kathy, you're going to love your new kitchen!

I can see where trying to get anything out of that cabinet would be a pain in the butt.

Are you changing any lighting or anything like that?

What did you decide with your countertops? And your backsplash? (I'm getting ready to look at backsplash here, too, and I haven't a clue as to what I want.)

I will tell you, although you know this by now with your fridge, that stainless steel is a bit of a bugger sometimes to keep clean. But I still really like the look.

Have fun!

Yes I'm going to be changing the lighting under the cupboards for sure. It's too dark in there. I'm kind of leaning towards the rough stone backsplash. Just going with laminate for countertop due to expense. I'm find with that.

Oh how exciting!!  We had a cabinet like that at our old house.  We really didn't have much cabinet space as it was; it was just a waste.  When we bought this place I was so impressed with the details the builder thought of.  I have 2 base corner cabinets and 1 wall corner one.  All 3 have lazy susans!  I think the kitchen (even with just standard oak cabinets and laminate for the counters and floors) could have sold me on the house.
A functional kitchen just makes life so much easier!

Please keep us updated with pics as things progress!

If you're going to look at under-cab lighting, check out the new LED strips; looks kind of like masking tape with the little lights on the strips. They're not overly expensive and they're very nice. They give you good task lighting and that's important for when you're cooking at night.

I wish you the best of luck with everything. Please post pictures as you can.

How fun!!! I'm sure it is going to be gorgeous when it is done.

I'm jealous! I would love to redo my kitchen. The money keeps going somewhere else though. It'll be a new roof within a month or so. I do wish I knew someone handy that could help with some of it. :lol3:

Yes, please keep sharing pics. :D. I can't wait to see it when it is done.

It's seems to be taking forever though. It's getting worked on between his other jobs. So it's very slow going. Of course when you start reno's you find all kinds of other problems. The pipes for the taps were secured probably and were suppose to be put into the wall which they weren't so all that has to be fixed. Right now I have no kitchen sink or water in the kitchen. Grrr... Nothing I do about it though.

Kathy, I was without a kitchen for about six weeks. It was an experience. We did dishes in the bathroom in plastic tubs in our bathtub. I had cooked ahead and frozen meals that we could reheat in the microwave. We grilled a lot, too. We did eat out, more often than we originally wanted to, simply because it such a hassle, especially toward the end. We lived out of plastic totes. That year we got our 100 pounds of apples and I made applesauce and pies with a small countertop that Rick laid over the dishwasher (I told him that he owed me big-time for those pies.
) We had no running water in the kitchen; we had to do everything in the bathroom. We had the microwave on the kitchen table that was in the living room.

We tore the cabinets out ourselves and we tore out the pantry closet. We had an outstanding contractor and a wonderful electrician; having people you trust is half the battle....I do believe that. Once the contractor installed the sun tunnels and the kitchen windows, the electrician came in and started to do the wiring above the wall cabinets. Then my sister (who is the world's best painter) came in to paint. We had professionals come in to hang the cabinets (there's no way I was even going to attempt that) and put the new floor down.

Now? It's a hassle for you. But when you have that new kitchen and you look around and see everything, you'll know that it was worth all of it. Hang in there. You're going to love it when it's done.

They are working on it as I type this. Thank god. Were using the paper plates as my large plates don't fit in the bathroom sink. I'll keep you posted.

This is where my kitchen sink was suppose to be.. Had to fix the pipes before however. Once of those

unexpected surprises you get when you start reno's!

The new cupboards on top are officially installed. More well be going on the other side of the fridge.

Already have the lazy susan in the corner unit! Yay!

Flooring has to be fixed up as well so everything is level.

Stove was in between here. We are buying a new stove as well to match the fridge. Yah, again!
