So i just wanted to post my experience, as it was FAR different from any of the videos i watched on YouTube of cats in labor!

I had calculated March 27 as Jax's due date, but figured that could be as many as 5 days off either way. The night before, she became INCREDIBLY affectionate and would not leave my lap/side/stomach etc to the point of jumping into my lap while i was peeing! However she didn't show any signs of distress, wasn't pacing or "nesting" yet at all, so I researched the behavior and gathered she was within 48hrs of giving birth.

The next morning, on the 27th, her behavior remained consistent. She might have became a bit more vocal, but I felt no noticeable contractions, she wasn't breathing heavy or "panting" - just super affectionate. When she followed me into the bathroom again, I laughed and pushed her down when she tried to climb into my lap. Then to my shock, she let out one LOUD scream and laid back to reveal a slimy kitten half way out already!! And about 60 seconds later, she contacted and out popped baby number one!

I had seen so many videos of cats struggling to get the first kitten out, and since Jax is exactly a year old and barely 6-7lbs, i thought she would have an even harder time. Yet this kitten practically fell out of her!

I felt terrible that she was laying on the cold bathroom floor!! Once the kitten was stimulated and trying to suckle, imoved them both into a layered up blanket and picked them up to move them somewhere Warmer and more secure. Jax had 2 more healthy babies, each about 2 hours apart exactly.

And she's in heaven with them right now! Hasn't left the nest for the first 36 hours so far, except twice to eat, drink, pee, and say a quick hello to me. Then she's right back to her kittens and kneeding (sp?) her paws contentedly =) I'm glad there's only 3, i already have homes for all of them, and I'm really happy Jax was able to experience being a mother at least once - she couldn't be happier!

My girls due in around 9 days, her pregnancy seems to have changed her into the devil cat lol, she only wants attention on her terms... Its Non negotiable! The vets checked her and seem to think there's nothing to be concerned about, he also said he could feel 3 kittens but to expect upto 5, she's not that big so I'm leaning more towards the three mark anyway. Good luck with your kitties and don't forget to update us on developments, we could help each other get through these next few weeks :-)

Yeah me too loads in the last few weeks! I'm impatient, I've told her she's grounded until she has them and that she should he more responsible because she's going to be a mummy haha!

She is a delicate flower really my Tigger, I think the boys around area took advantage of her and she's paying the price! That's my theory anyway haha

It's difficult to wait, but I know we will both be happy when they are here.Sage is a complete inside cat so instead of the normal accidentally letting the cat out,my neighbor accidentally let Bentears(our tom cat who we really need to get neutered) in.Heres a picture of Sage,as of right now she likes nothing better than sleeping

Aww she's lovely, mine is a bizarre story, I took her in as she was a stray hanging around my work place. Because I work nights I used to feed her because I felt so sorry for her, she was really skinny.

Eventually I brought her home with me and tried introducing her to my tom cat but he wasn't having any of it, the vets said it was likely she had been spayed because by the time I'd had her for 4 months in mating season she had not got pregnant, especially while she was living with a intact male.

I got the male neutered just in case, she was frightened to go out but I just put this down to living on the street. Then in January she started wanting to go out so I let her, under the impression she was spayed and was therefore "protected". And look where we are today haha!

Here's a pic of my Tiggs.

And one of her belly.
She doesn't like the flash on my phone lol

Its not an ideal age but i'm sure she will be fine, cats can come into the heat as young as 4 months. In the wild cats would be getting pregnant at this age and younger. at nine months old she will be a good size and her body should be able to handle the stress of labour. I'm not one to preach so I wont, how can I when I too have a pregnant queen, but if she does encounter problems please get her to a vet, no vet will turn an animal in pain away. Are you in Britain? Most vet practices in Britain will let you make a Payment Plan where you can pay so much over so many months etc. Not sure if this applies when you take them to an emergency vet though! if you do get concerned you can always just call a vet practice and ask for advice, though you may have to wait due to booked surgeries, consultations etc!

I took Oreo in as a stray (end of January) so I had no idea when she was impregnated, and had to rely on this forum to figure it out (I was concerned because we had a trip planned around her due date, but, as luck would have it, she delivered a week later).  She had been a very sweet, somewhat attention hungry cat from day one, which I was not sure if it is a part of her true personality or a pregnancy symptom.  She showed very few signs that labor was eminent: the last two days she darted back in the door when I put her in her room with her nest for the night, she only ate half her meals and had really bad gas.  Her milk didn't come in until the day of birth.  I did see kitten movement two weeks prior to birth and they moved less as she was closer to birth.  I was concerned she may have a stillborn since there was little to no movement, but everyone was healthy coming out and they may have simply moved in the birthing position.  She only lost her mucus plug the day she gave birth, I didn't see it actually happen, but I saw it on the floor after birth.

Thank you everyone for sharing as it really was helpful to read everyone else's experiences while I was waiting very impatiently!

And now it's our turn to be all anxious and impatient, Tigger still has just over a week left till her EDD, as far as I'm aware, and I can't wait. I'm watching her like a hawk for the slightest change in behaviour lol

A few years ago i had a queen due to pop (nixie) so i had Set up a bed for her in my wardrobe. she never went in it. But On a saturday night i had gone clubbing and got home about 2am, to find her sitting in her bed. i said my hellos then jumped into bed then she started squeaking and making noises. turns out she was waiting for me and starting giving birth. i climbed in and lay down with her while she birthed 6 gorgeous kittens. They ended up being like my children, she would bring them all onto my bed while she would go take a break lol. i fell completely in love with a little ginger boy, who i called georgie. Then at 8 weeks when my mum told me to find them homes (i still lived at home) i was a mess at that fact that george had to leave. so my mum took them to the petshop while i was out so i didnt have to be a misreble mess. Then i got home to find my george still sitting there. sooo happy. he turned into my baby. a spoilt little cat with such a big awesome personality. which was lucky because a few months later his real mum, nixie, randomly died. Unsure why. A couple of years later i then moved from the country to town and couldnt take george due to being use to country life and didnt want him to get hit by a car etc. My dad has now claimed him and lets him sleep on his pillow (something i thought my dad would never do). 3 months ago i searched every where for the perfect kitten, i then adopted mouse from a cat rescue. My little tabby and white princess. im so lucky to have such awesome cats, fully of personality and i often find myself laughing at their antics! Heres some pictures of my beautiful nixie , george and mouse.

She has somewhat gotten the hang of it. But she does leave him alone a lot :(

And he is definitely a fighter. We're calling it either Mufasa or Nala out of the lion king as it has the heart and fight of a lion.

And it's funny enough he did survive as when we compared him to his siblings he was definitely the runt.
