Flea collars aren't the greatest thing because of the pesticide used but they are better than nothing. He'll get used to wearing a collar, he should have one anyway with ID on it besides a microchip so if he gets out and a neighbor finds him he can be reunited with you right away as long as he still wears the collar. Be sure to make it a "break-away" so if he gets caught on something he can still get loose.

Hah, now I'm jealous!!!   @Raksha  , I think you now have a cuddlebug.
   (Or at least you did before you introduced that evil collar
  )

I used to have my tabbies wear collars so visitors could tell them apart and predict whether they would be met with a hiss or a headbump if they tried to approach....  one of my girls (snowleopard) used to hate wearing the collar and I regularly used to find her tangled up in it when I came in from work:   she'd try to take it off by slipping one of her front legs under the collar and then be stuck like that and have to waddle about 3 legged until I got home.
    She was a pretty intelligent cat but some how never learned not to stick her leg in to her collar.

    I gave up on the collars eventually as figured one day she would really hurt herself.

@MServant  I KNOW!!!! I'm so happy about that!!! And as far as the flea collar goes, he's being such a good boy about it. All he does is shake a little, to show me he doesn't like it. I gave him some extra slack, just in case he decides to try and scratch it off or something (so he doesn't get "pretzeled" or strangle himself). Next extermination round is Tuesday, so he'll be boarded, bathed, and Capstar'ed... and I think I'm in love with my new Dyson vacuum. It pulled so much out of the carpet I didn't even know was there!!!

@segelkatt, the flea collar is only going to stay on as long as the flea problem persists. I'm hoping to have it off him (and have him microchipped) in the next month or so. He's a strictly indoor cat (and seems quite content to be!), but the flea problem came about because I wasn't paying good attention to the vet's instructions and didn't give him his first round of flea meds when I was supposed to :/

I don't have a spray bottle on the floor... If it's me you're referring to... What you might be seeing is my back pain relief spray, on the side table. He ignores it in favor of the bamboo plant.

LoL, now I am confused.
  I've just spent ages looking for some spray bottle on the floor in photos and the only spray I can see is in Raksha's post.    @Stewball  I think you are winding me up.

@Stewball     I think it is Raksha's photo you were looking at, and it is probably the back pain relief spray she mentioned.  For starters - I don't have any plants here because Mouse chews them.

Who's lying on the couch, on her side, in jeans and a grey top with a Russian blue between the back of the legs?

That's my Pepe. (RIP, Pepe.)

Guillermo, my 6 year old "Russian Blue" (according to the shelter where I adopted him).

And me with Fernando, my one year old kitty who has cerebellar hypoplasia.

In case you didn't notice the theme... All my blue cats have Spanish names. Don't ask me why... :)
