So, as a follow up to threads Here, Here, and Here, this will HOPEFULLY OMG be the end of the road.

We have tried every medicine and food mix we know to do, aside from homecooked, because SURPRISE, we still have no kitchen. It's been three months. Still none. It's fantastic, ask me how I feel about it.

The vet suggested a Fecal Transplant, which is exactly what it sounds like. It apparently has a 90% sucess rate in humans. Here's a video about fecal transplants in cats.

I'm REALLY REALLY hopeful. Nothing else has worked, so I REALLY think this is IBS. And if it's IBS, I REALLY think this could work.

She goes in on Saturday to wait on her donor, Smitty the Office Cat to poop, then they rush the procedure, and she's home. I called the vet to see if we should try even more foods or try this first. I said "Look, if this is $1,000, we need to try some other things first, if it's $200, let's do it."

She said it would be like $50.

Sold.

I'll report back next week!

Wow, I've definitely heard of this in humans (didn't even flinch when I read the words), but had no idea they do this for cats.  But if it's IB S (vs IBD) how would this help, since my understanding of IBS is it's kind of "mentally induced".

Well, whatever, wishing you and Lola the BEST OF LUCK

Can't wait to here how it goes (no pun intended)

Well, maybe it IS IBD, but she tested positive for certain bacteria that apparently this fixes? She tested positive for two...Both started with a C, and I threw away the paper so I am of no use when it comes to spelling them.

So.........?  How's she doing?  Did she have the procedure?  Did it work?  I'm so excited to hear the outcome

Hey, thanks for checking in!

She had the procedure last weekend. So far, no improvement that I can tell, but something I read online says it can take months for the good bacteria to grow, so we aren't panicking yet.

Also, I just found out I'm pregnant yesterday, so I don't really need to be inspecting her poop very closely. I have to get creative to get my husband to do it for the next week until I tell him on Valentine's Day. :)
