Oh wow he/she is gorgeous! Yes, it must have surely belonged to some one. Are you in the USA? Are there any vets nearby? Maybe you could check with any of them in your area to see if they recognize her, or to see if she is chipped.

Feeding 3 times a day of cat canned food/wet food is preferable. Keep fresh water available at all times. Are you keeping it indoors? He or she will need a litter box if so.

Hope you find her owner. Will you keep her/him if you can not? So glad your trying to look after the cat.

Beautiful kitty! I would check the local shelters to see if anyone's inquired about this kitty. Usually they post pics of their newest ones online. If no one comes forth, I would keep heeshi if you can.

Just give kitty some good wet and dry food, water bowl, a regular litter box and some kitty toys. They don't really need much other than lots of hugs and cuddles. Heeshi's beautiful!

If you opt not to keep Heeshi, I'm certain it won't be hard to find a beautiful kitty like that a good home. Good luck and I hope Heeshi will be well taken care of and very much loved in the future.:wavey:

I wanted to add that your kitty looks like a Main Coon. Our little Surry that mysteriously showed up at our house over a month ago, looks almost identical to Heeshi. All grey, fluffy tail with those furry tufts on each side of his face.

I suspect you arent living in USA? Outside US and Europe?

If you can get canned cat food "wet food" its good.  Canned "wet" food is usually better  than dry cat food.

If you cant, think cats ate mainly animal products.  Meat of most sorts is OK, fish.  It doesnt need to be first rate, as long it isnt bad.

Some cats dont manage cow milk so we dont recommend cow milk unless you know for sure your cat does manage com milk.. But youghurt is ok, cheese is ok,  goat milk is much ok.

Eggs.  Some cooked rice, or well cooked pasta, or cooked ,potatos, as fill up may be OK, but not as main course.

Water to drink.  Although if heshes gets canned wet food, heshes doesnt need so much extra water..

Read on internet.  Go to the public library and borrow some books on cats.

Congrats to your new furry friend!

Good luck!

She is just simply gorgeous.  I can't say it enough! I love gray cats.

Of course we're only guessing she is a she. Have you been able to determine it's sex yet?

You'll want to get a good comb(not a brush) for her fur. Make sure it's not to narrow toothed. While at the vet, have them check her out. She may need a dewormer too. I do hope you find her owner, but how lucky is she that she found you!

Thanks for posting all these photos!!! Heeshi is SOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!!! What does Heeshi mean?

The hair shedding could be from malnutrition I think, but I don't have much knowledge of longhaired cats' fur. Some cats just shed a LOT, some don't shed much.

Narrow tooth comb or "fine" tooth comb means the "teeth" are very close together.

I can tell you have fallen in love with this cat already and who can blame you.

It is normal for long haired cats to "shed" (lose) some hair. I agree it could be she may be loosing more due to malnourishment, but either way, this is why combing is important so she doesn't get mats (knots in her fur). A comb with it's teeth further apart works well to get down into her under coat, yet not pull to hard on her fur.

Cats who have been outside can get worms, roundworms or tapeworms, and so need medications to kill these worms. When you take her to the vet, which you should do as soon as you can, try to bring with you a fresh sample of her stool. They can check it for worms and then give you the proper medication for her (if she needs it).
