Hi, I'm new to all this so please bare with me...I bought my cat nearly 9 weeks ago and was sold her as a rag doll upon getting her checked at the vets she was healthy with a heart murmur and although she's an indoor cat I decided on getting her spayed BUT the day before she was due to be spayed I noticed some changes...which I then took her to the vet again who confirmed she was in fact pregnant!!! So I was sold her pregnant :( I'm concerned as technically she's due in 2 days time at the latest (she hasn't been let out once here) she's not nesting, lost the plug,nothing....although the kittens are moving round loads today....so should i be worrying??
also if any one could tell me what breed they think she is I'd be very grateful...many thanks :)

Once you can see/feel the kittens moving, there are about two weeks left, but the exact date is always uncertain. Since the vet just saw her, if you are concerned, I would definitely call the vet.

Without registered papers, it's really impossible to tell what breed she is. It sounds like you bought her from a backyard breeder because an ethical breeder would never have sold you one who was already pregnant! How old is she?

Hi thankyou for your reply...she apparently is one...the vet and I aren't too sure though she does look young bless her I have taken her to the vet again today and she is more than happy with her and says she only has a few days if that left... I never got her fr a breeder the dodgy wan said she wanted to re home her as 'they were moving house' so I just took her word for what she was and her age they then told she had just had kittens 8 weeks previous!!! The vet said she has literally given birth and then got pregnant again when I quizzed the previous owner about this she said 'they let a stray in but didn't know if it was a boy or girl' :( thanks again.

Poor baby! Having back to back litters is very hard on a female. Many vibes that she has a safe delivery.

Since the gestation period is about 9 - 10 weeks and you got lovely Jasmine 9 weeks ago, it would appear to be any time now. Hate to see back-to-back pregnancies and wishing for a smooth delivery.

I have a registered Ragdoll and have done my best to become familiar with the breed - and from the look of her I can see SOME evidence of Ragdoll in her*, but certainly not a pure breed by a long shot. Too many things look wrong for that. Still she is lovely and probably has some of the sweetness and I hope she will be a good mom.

You've come to the right place to get lots of advice. I'm sure if you look around you will find a lot of useful information to help you through this.

The next nine weeks will probably be more exciting than the last - and I hope things turn out well for you and her babies.

*Said she had a heart murmur? At your convenience you may consider having the genetic test for HCM, it is carried most commonly in Ragdolls and Maine Coon cats. Licensed Ragdoll breeders will provide evidence that their line doesn't carry it in the contract and obviously this isn't how you came by her.

Looking forward to seeing pictures of the kittens! :vibes: :vibes: :vibes:

Thankyou so much I appreciate ant information/advice I get, I will definitely ask about that test as I do worry terribly about her, I cannot believe some people are so irresponsible to allow a cat to become pregnant immediately afterwards :( all I can do is look after her now though and fingers crossed all will be ok thankyou again for ur help :)

Now note that I'm not one of the advisors here... just a guy who reads too much about cats - so I'm going to be in your court watching from afar this amazing miracle. I've never seen a pregnant cat so this is an amazing picture to me... marveling at nature. Awesome looking girl.

Others should be around if you have questions or you can look through this forum topic to advice already given to others. Wow, what a picture.

Stumbled on your thread when I saw your amazing picture of Jasmine shortly before she had her kittens, and then read her story.  What a tough time she has had, and what a stunning little cat she is.  Absolutely beautiful.  I hope Jasmine and all her kittens are healthy and well, and that she is coping with such a big litter all on her own.

You are a real star for keeping her and taking on the responsibility of her giving birth. I would have been terrified, never having cared for a pregnant cat before.  I can't offer you any advice but wanted to say thank you for taking good care of her.  It looks like she is lucky to have been re homed and especially to someone as caring and responsible as you.  Fingers crossed she and her kittens are clear of HCM, and that you find some loving furever homes for her kittens (as many as you can bare to part with anyway).

Thank you again for looking after Jasmine and giving her a loving and safe home.

Thank you I've tried my best with her since she clearly had a rough time...she has had weekly visits throughout her pregnancy because I was so nervous, I've rang them with any little problem they must be fed up of me, [emoji]128569[/emoji]
She is doing fantastic she eats when she has them settled and they are all sound asleep in a little huddle. Needless to say she has another vet appt Friday just to check her and the furbabies over :)
Thankyou again for your kind words it means a lot [emoji]128570[/emoji]

Mouse and I will have fingers and paws crossed for a calm and healthy vet visit on Friday.  Sending you good vibes for mum and kittens to do well and all kittens to thrive.

Hiya. Well. You're a granny. Congrats. Are the kittens black and white or is that just my old eyes.
If I were in your place I'd want to keep all of them. Probably impossible and in any case my kids wouldn't let me.
Enjoy.
