I got my kitten when he was 7 weeks old, he eats wet Friskies kitty food.. I feed him 3 times a day, when he eats he gobbles it all up.

I give him about 1/4 of the can each feeding. I also offer him some dry food and he gobbles it up to. Last week 8/23/13 he weight 2.5

when I took him in for his first shots. What can I do about his feeding problem?

Hi and welcome to The Cat Site.

When you took your kitten to the vets, did he say anything about her weight?  Any blood work?

2.5 pounds is a little large--but maybe he'll be a big cat.

What is his background--where did you get him?  The general rule of thumb for kittens is to feed them as much as they will eat; they are growing.

And, are you feeding him Friskies wet or dry or both?  You might try feeding him more of the wet food; wet food generally contains more protein, less carbohydrates; cats/kittens feel fuller on protein/fat than carbohydrates.

BWT:  Fancy Feast CLASSIC is lower in carbohydrates (a good think when it comes to cats) than Friskies.  Fancy Feast also makes a kitten version of their food.

Here is an article about choosing the right food for your cat.
