Usually when she is lactating it would be within the last week.

As others have said, it was normal for a vet to not be able to feel for sure.  There is a window around 3-4 weeks when an experienced vet can often feel them .   but after that ,  what he said was correct, it gets harder to feel.

The kittens won't be pointed unless she happened to mate with a male who Is pointed or carrying one copy of that gene and some of the kittens inherited it. That's not impossible because the gene for that pattern has been widely spread through the general domestic cat population  ,  which is how there are a lot of pointed domestic shorthair cats that people mistakenly think are Siamese.   but non- pointed ( full coloration) is more common,  so I hope there are people wanting those kittens too.  ( What colors they might be depends on the male.  but if she is a seal point,  her male kittens willmost likely be black  ( or if the male  is tabby they could be brown tabby,  or if he has white markings they could get those. ) .  Females could be any of those, or if the male was red,  the females would be tortoisehell.

I would keep the neutered male away from the kittens for about the first 3 or 4 weeks.  Keep the mama and kittens in their own room at first.   after that you can let him in if the queen is not stressed out by it,  and watch closely to see how he and she behave.   Some Siamese males are very nurturing with kittens and once they're up and moving around  he might share kitten-sitting responsibilities.  but never assume any male cat is going to be OK with kittens especially newborn ,  and don't assume the queen will be OK with it even if the cat is her good friend.    It is really best to leave the mom and kittens separate from other pets in the house while the kittens are very tiny.

I would get a nest set up for her now in a quiet room,  if you haven't already.

Great to hear you will be getting the vax and altering done and keeping kittens at least 10 weeks and that you will have help from a rescue in finding/ screening homes.

Thanks! I have three different nests lol. I actually have just been trying things out. She does not like confine spaces under any circumstances. I'm sure this is has to do with her previous home..when labor seems apparent though I will confine her to one room. She loves my spare room bed...not the boxes I have out in there for her but hopefully that will change. I have been feeding her dinner in the best one and pulled it out of the closet so shear like it better....?

We aren't sure but my husband took her from there. She came to us with a lot of behavior problems and it took her a long time to get settled. I know they had a large dog that did not like her. That's about it.

Oh wow I wish that she hadn't had to go threw that with all my cat has been threw the only behavioral probs she has is going under the bed and not listening when we say no. When she thinks she is in trouble and we say no she will rub against us to butter us up. I can't wait till she is spayed cause then I can get her to stop meowing as much ugh. She just had a kitten so this is the first time I have had to deal with her in heat since we gother. (We got her when she was already pregnant)

Yikes! Mine has never really done a lot of the meowing. Siamese "talk"...it's the funniest sound...sometimes she makes this sound, almost like a low tones bird call, with my other one. But they do that a lot and all the time.

Aw it sounds cute. I wish that there was a home for all kitties so that none would have to be homeless and I wish that all would be able to have a good loving home. I am getting kitten booty in my face every time I try to type on my phone

Aww! Lol. I'm so excited now. My kids will enjoy this experience. I already have about 6 inquiries about the kittens and I don't even know how many yet lol. Two people are family members...so your cat only had one?

Yes she only had one and the one is bitting me like I would be a sibling since he doesn't have any and right now he is down my shirt asleep(he likes blankets and shirts to sleep in cause of them being warm). He is going to be 3 weeks old wensday. He explores like crazy and I have woken up multyple times last night cause he was out of the box on his own and I got scared from him being so little that we would hurt him so I stayed up and put him and his mom back in the box and then woke up again and did it again and then woke up again and did it again. We are keeping him and getting Tabby (the mom )spayed as soon as he is weaned. Then we are getting buddy nuetered as soon as he is big enough. But make sure your kids know that they shouldn't pick up the kittens if your momma cat might try to protect them if she doesn't want them to be picked up(but you supposed to weigh them every day for the first 2 weeks). I didn't know that you was supposed to weigh them and we never did way buddy cause we didn't have a scale and we didn't know that we had to till he was already 2 weeks or alil over. But they will have fun as long as they don't mind small nips when they are playing with the kittens. The kittens will probably nipp when they start getting teeth in.

Oh I forgot to say that your cat might let you pick up the kittens if she really trusts you. My cat I got her just after she got pregnant and she has let me and my bf hold her kitten from the momment that he was born. So it all depends on your relationship with your cat and also how layed back your cat is.

Duly noted. Thank you! I noticed her behavior get back to more normal today. She thinks she is Superwoman, jumping around the counters and such. Playing with my male cat pretty rough. My husband said he could feel kicks on both sides. I noticed she kept getting up and moving to different areas to sleep last night. Nothing confined though. Always out in the open. Middle of the bed, kitchen table bench, ect. I just cant wait till this is over with. I have read so many emergency stories it worries me.

Ok my cat had a good birth and a good pregnancy. It would be kinda difficalt to have complications unless you have a breed that is known for them. I didn't know my car was pregnant and she has a healthy baby boy lol. Its ok to be worried.

Did your cat start trying to get out again just before she had them? She keeps sitting right in front of the door waiting like she is ready to dart. She doesnt, she doesnt even get up. But I know her well enough to know she is thinking it lol!

I didn't notice any change in her personality when she was pregnant except that she got fatter. I also noticed the night she had become way way more affectionant than usuall.

She doesn't like the outdoors even though when the people that gave her to us found her she was wondering around outside. I think she was a indoor only cat before they found her outside. She only tries to get in other parts of the house which until she is spayed and dewormed and vaccinated she isn't aloud cause we don't know her medical history.

SO my husband told me last night that he thinks the Daddy is an all grey Tom cat that he has seen around. So strange to have stray cats in our neighborhood, but its the only one anyone has seen so I am guessing that has to be him. So an all grey and Siamese......? Wondering what this litter may look like. I have contemplated leaving some food out for this guy to see of he shows himself. Maybe trap him and pay to get him altered? May bite off more than I can chew there though? He may belong to someone....Our neighborhood is so nice and quiet, I would hate for there to become a serious stray cat population.

My work had a surplus of stray cats around the building and someone tried trapping as many as possible. This woman was paying to have them altered and was going to re release them, then the building management told her not to because they were having an extermination company come out to take care of the rest. :0( So sad.

Yea they must not care about animals that much they should have called the humane society in your area or something to come and get them. Most of the cats that are outside belong to us and they are way to old to be brought inside cause we already tried after my bfs dad died. Someone came and got the cats spayed them and then released them all except one cat cause nobody can catch her. They also took our kittens and never returned them hope they are ok. But I would say first ask around and see if anyone clames him if not then try and trap him and train him to be an indoor outdoor cat so that he will have a place to go when the wether gets bad again or during the spring/summer

I would post over in the Strays and Ferals section and see what those folks have to say about catching the gray guy.  TNRing him would be great; but they are also knowledgeable about determining if he has an owner and what not.  Perhaps if he does have an owner you could work with them to get him fixed, if necessary.

Re potential colors.   For some reason I am thinking she is a seal point?  That is the most common color of SIamese, where the points are very very very dark brown almost black in the darkest parts,  with black nose)

If a solid blue ( grey) cat  is the father,  with seal point mother,  the most likely color for kittens is black.

There could also be some blue kittens if the mom is carrying the dilute gene.

Less likely would be seal point or blue point;  that will only happen if the father is carrying pointed.

If you mean the father is a blue tabby (striped or swirled / blotched or spotted tabby markings  with the darkest color a dark grey and the other colors of the pattern are paler greys/ tan )  then most likely is brown tabby kittens.    Or blue tabby if mom carrying dilute.  or if dad is carrying pointed there could be tabby points.

If the dad is blue and white, it is likely at least some kittens would get some white markings.

If he is the only sire of the litter,  there won't be any reds, torties or calico.  If he is solid blue there won't be any tabbies.   so if you'd see kittens that don't fit with those rules,  you would know she mated with another cat.

Good advice about asking in the Stray and Feral section about getting the blue tom fixed and vaccinated.
