I made some AWESOMELY DELICIOUS cream cheese fruit tarts last night, and my friend who works in a theatre across the highway asked if I would bring her some this morning.  I start over... I am horrified that on the other side of a very busy highway from where I am at at that moment, I see 4 or 5 tiny kittens crying and scared!!!  I run over to them and grab them up... 2 are dead from being hit by cars already!!

Poor babies aren't more than 4 weeks old at most.  I believe they are colorpoint but it's hard to know for sure, as of now, the colorpoints or possible colorpoints are faint and the eyes are still baby blue.  They are tiny.  They have the startings of teeth coming through.  I take them to my vet and he says they are fine... A little dehydrated and traumatized but nothing appearantly wrong with them.

I get some formula and give them my moms concoction for puppies and kittens not quite ready for solid food yet.  Phoebe is mothering them.  They are following her as if she is momma.  Piper is helping Phoebe.  Paige is ticked off... She da baby!  But she won't hurt them.  She'll throw a fit but would never hurt anything.  Morgan and Arthur seem to not know what to think?

Great.  Just what I don't need to deal with right now... But I couldn't not save them!  I am sure they'll be beautiful when they are ready and I will not have problems finding them homes.  Why do people do such heartless things?

Some people just have NO feelings what so ever!  Thank God you saw them!!! Obviously no one was going to stop and help them.  Who knows how long they would of been there before all dying.  I would of done the exact same thing!  Good for you.

It was their Guardian Angel working and making you do this delicious cheese fruit cake. So you would bring it as a gift to your friend across the street.  AND have the possibility to discover the little ones in need.

Otherwise you wouldnt go there, and discover them, right?

So that is why you did these delicious cakes.

Your gift and will to saving animals is great. The gift of doing tasting cakes is an important part in this.

That is perhaps why you are such an excellent baker.

Of course, it is allowed for you and your friends to eat and enjoys these cakes. Helping others is not only a heavy duty. It is also allowed to be great joy and pleasure.  Do so.    :)

Good luck!

StefanZ, I think you've missed your vocation... I think you should write inspirational books!

They made it through the night just fine.  They eat like little piggies... I am so glad!!  That was my biggest worry with them.  Phoebe and Piper clean them off after meals.  And they snuggle in a warm bed I sat on the floor for them... It's Phoebe's but she doesn't mind one bit!

My friend indeed enjoyed her tarts I brought her!!  Everyone did!!
No, it was not part of my plan to be that direction yesterday, the tarts were the only reason... So I have 5 kittens saved by cream cheese fruit tarts!
I am going to give them a little bath today now that they are calmed down some and comfortable.  I didn't want to add to their stress yesterday doing so.  I will take pics then.  Don't be concerned if it's pics of them eating and with crud all over their faces... They are quite messy at this age!!  (But, oh so very cute!)  all they seem to do is eat, make a huge mess and sleep!  I'm also going to see if I can get them playing some today, too.  If they don't get playful real soon I am going to get worried!

Well, heartbreakingly 3 of the kittens did not make it and passed away today.  My vet and I believe it was from heat exhaustion.  I have 2 remaining boys that are doing better and a little more active.  I think they may make it.  I named them Tyrion (red tabby) and Joffrey (cream).  They are small but eating and drinking and using the litterbox like pros.  They are playing more now.  So I am not worried about them as much.  After I bathed them with the kitty wipes, I found out that one is a tabby and the other is a cream!!

Here's a picture of Tyrion...He's so tiny!

You should name them after cheeses, fruits or deserts!

Phoebe and Piper sound wonderful, it's just what those kittens need.  Hope they continue to do well.

What a precious little red boy. Praying he and the other little one make it. I'm so sorry the others didn't, but at least they knew some love and human kindness. They'll be waiting for you at your :rbheart: Bridge.

I really wonder how some people sleep at night, doing such atrocious things.

Thank you, I have tons of new pictures of Tyrion Lannister, the lone survivor.  He's doing very well, though.  No lethargy and no breathing problems.  I think he will make it.  Go check out his pictures if you want to... They are under Tyrion Lannister thread.

Yes, the other one had a bad URI and Doc A said it would be kindest to put him down as he didn't think medicines would help him, he was too far gone.

But the lone one is doing very, very well.  He is a fighter and very fiesty and energetic.  Small for his estimated ages but healthy.

I just read your original post about these little guys, who in their right mind could do that to little kitties is beyond me, but I know what I'd like to be done to them!

Anyway, thank you so much for saving these little guys
I am so sorry 4 now did not make it, poor sweet little angels

Thank you!  Tyrion continues to thrive.  He is becoming very active and learning day by day from the other cats.  He is so small but it doesn't hinder him any... He does everything the older and larger cats do, too.  We are working on a couple of behavior issues but nothing too terrible!  He thinks he has to be held 24/7 and is a love bug!  He will make someone a wonderful furbaby when the time comes!

A few weeks ago a family had something similar happen to them, they pulled up at an intersection and 6 five week old kittens were apparently tossed out there so they jumped out and tried to save them, unfortunately traffic wouldnt stop and several were hit and killed or so badly injured as they tried to catch them, they had to be put to sleep, however two weren't hurt and are doing great. The family was sooooo shaken up, little girl was about 4 and didn't really understand, mom and dad were both in tears and shook up by the cruelty. They brought them to the petsmart I was volunteering with a feline rescue and I bottle fed them until one of our kitten fosters picked them up. They are 6 weeks now and doing great, thank you for being like those brave people and saving helpless animals, I wish we could give out huge rewards to awesome people like you!
