He seems to fit the bill - any feedback would be appreciated

Ocicats are pretty rare, so it is quite unlikely, unless you  have a backyard breeder in your area or something?

It sure looks like an Oci to me.  I have the same question. Got a rescue kitten last month and now I see that he has developed SPOTS on his sides, toard the back. Not a total Oci but I have a feeling he's part Oci. And since they were bred in Michigan, which is where I am, maybe he's one that got lost.

We would love to see some good photos of him, esp of the sides, back, and head.

As overall rule, some spots on the tummy, however sweet doesnt count, Many tabbies, both mackerel and classic, do carry spots on the tummy.

Its  spots on the sides whom counts.

The cat  of the TS, was a broken mackerel tabby in his pattern.  No true spots no, not there.
