Do go back to the vet if she doesn't deliver in the next day or so.  Once the mucus plug has gone infection can get in.

Really?? I had always thought some cats lose their mucus plug even a week or two before giving birth and are fine?? Thank you for telling me! If she doesn't have em by tomorrow around 3 i'll definitely call the vet.

The plug seals the cervix.  Once the seal is broken infection can get in though the amniotic sac gives some protection and each kitten has it's own sac.  Yes, some cats (and some women) lose it some time before delivery and are OK, but normally delivery comes fairly soon after losing it.  Since tomorrow is Saturday and your vets is probably shut on Sunday, I'd ring tomorrow morning if she was my cat.  They may not be concerned, but a phone call is cheap.

I have been reading and waiting for the last 2 weeks while waiting on our 1 year old Siamese mix, Zsa Zsa , to have her babies.  She showed no signs of labor except licking her back end the morning of, and then she just started popping out kittens around 10 pm Saturday night!  She had 6 healthy babies that look nothing like her or the cat that we thought fathered them.  They are just beautiful and already have their own personalities only 5 days later.  Good luck!!!

Hello!!! Clynn11 I have read everything and sounds soooo nerve wrecking!! I really hope the queen and the babies will be fine!! Reading it felt like you have been waiting for weeks! My cat Ginger she is expecting and I am nervous because it just seems like time doesnt go by anymore!!

Keep us updated!! Hope she will deliver soon a litter of furry healthy kittens!

UGHHHHH. Nothing. I called the vet yesterday because when I was doing research online it said any shade of green discharge is bad and a sign of infection and I was freaking out. But the vet said sounds exactly like she just lost her mucous plug, and that she should deliver in the next 24-48 hours hopefully. I noticed the loss of the mucous plug around 3 pm yesterday. I saw it twice within about 30 minutes, the first time I wiped it away, the second time she licked it away and that's the last i've seen.

Nope! No kittens yet! Called the vet and they said if she doesn't seemed distressed in any way and doesn't feel to have a temp or still has her appetite, to leave her be. [This may be because I explained to him i'm flat out broke until tomorrow when I get paid since our last vet bill for the last feral boy was WAY MORE than we expected- although i'm sure if they thought it could be something serious they'd tell me to bring her in asap?]. Thank you all for keeping up with my thread and checking back :) If she doesn't have them by Wednesday I am going to take her in.

That is always my way of thinking too hun. If she isn't distressed, is eating and acting fine, I wouldn't worry. I can't get over how long she is cooking these little ones though! LOL

If the vet thought it was necessary and I could afford it, I would take her in in a heartbeat. I however in the past weeks paid a 250$ vet bill to test, neuter, and clean-up a stray male that had gotten in a fight around my neighborhood. Then I had to take Onyx in today because she's been having a really bad skin reaction to something, apparently she's allergic to flea saliva which was another 75$
But if she shows any signs of pain or sickness I will find any funding and means possible to get her in asap. And i'll still be taking her in in a few days if she hasn't had the babes by then. Since I don't know when the conception date was and she's such a tiny kitty normally the vet just thinks i've been able to see and feel the kittens a lot longer than what is considered the 'norm'. Here's a picture I took of her yesterday, happy as a clam and as big as a house.

she could be getting ready but from what ive read on these forums u never know as she may have that temp for a while. it is a sign that things are happening so hopefully in next few days there will be kittens :D. congratulations and cant wait to see the photos. my cat is 62 days and her appetite has decreased and constantly moving in and out different nesting places (depending on which room im in) but no major signs from sasha.

good luck and remember to post pics
