...and please please do not ask any tips from gwen stefani on how to dress the girls next time!!!!! she needs to stick with singing. horrible looking outfits!!

look at last few seasons, where is last year winner? i don't even know his name..or season 8... where is tayler hicks.. he moved around and put on a show!! ...and look at daughtry and jennifer hudson and others that never made it to top 2 and they are successful!!

Look at, for example, Kris Allen beating out Adam Lambert. You don't hear anything about Kris, but Adam's already a star - which he rightfully should be. There are other examples too, which I don't need to mention. We all know who they are.

Did anyone else see Pia on Leno last night. She sang with Rickey Minor and his band who were Idol's band before going to the Tonight Show. Anyway she sang a little but they cut to a commercial and she was still singing when the break was over.

I agree that Idol is just a stepping stone to success, it's a good place to be seen and that's why so many make it big even tho they didn't win on Idol. As someone mentioned, a lot of losers on Idol made it big while winners were forgotten as soon as the show was over.

Bing even more: Less than 24 hours after her shocking early "American Idol" exit, season 10 finalist Pia Toscano has scored a record deal, UsMagazine.com has exclusively confirmed.

The 22-year-old New Yorker -- booted from the FOX series Thursday -- will record her debut album under the Interscope Records imprint, which is chaired by Idol mentor Jimmy Iovine.

"Pia is being signed to a deal with Interscope Records who are rushing her into the studio to record an album ASAP," a source familiar with the contract talks tells Us. "Starting [Thursday] night after the show, Interscope told her they wanted her and first thing [Friday] morning Interscope brass started calling every top songwriter and producer in town to get an album together and rush release it."

As for the contract, the insider says, "Papers are being finalized. It's basically a done deal. She's signing. They rushed everything but she's so excited."more

Though "Idol" fans are still coming to terms with her dismissal, Toscano -- who will hit the road this summer for the Idols LIVE! concert tour -- is taking her bad news in stride.

"You don't know for sure why things happen, but you know, it did!" she told reporters during a Friday conference call. "It was my time to go on the show and I'm excited to see what my future holds."

I was surprised, but happily so. Pia was so boring and I really hate that style of singing anyway. I wish her well, and apparently she already has a record deal? I thought they had to wait til their Idol contract was up? But anyway, I wish her well, I'm just glad my favorites are still there and I don't have to listen to her screeching anymore.

I thought the pia elimination was ridiculous, but it doesn't surprise me too much. She was one of the most able singers on there ...
At this point in the show they add so many special effects to their voices that it's hard for any of them to sound really bad. I thought at the beginning it was much clearer to judge their abilities, like when Jacob sang god bless the child- that basically put him in the category of genius for me! But now it's not just about their singing abilities but the song choices, the way they perform, and other factors...
I have never watched any other seasons if AI but this time I'm just hooked because of how many true artists there are on the show, not just pop star wanna bes ...Casey, James, Jacob are all just amazing..

So, who do you think will get booted tonight? I'm thinking possibly stefano or Haley

At this point in the competition, I wouldn't even venture to guess who gets the boot - especially after what happened with Pia last week. I think it depends upon what fans were watching last night...

I'm hoping it's Jacob. I know that there are a lot of peeps who like him, but he just grates on my nerves - especially after that narcissistic comment he made last week.

He said, "If America votes me off tomorrow night, it won't be because I sang poorly or chose the wrong song: it will be because America couldn't take a look at themselves in the mirror." He was referring to Michael Jackson's song Man In the Mirror that he sang that night. Those may not be the exact words, but they're close enough.

IMHO, Jacob's narcissistic and a bit stuck on himself. What an incredibly arrogant & egotistical thing to say! Gag me with a spoon!

I think Stefano should go home tonight, I don't like him at all. I did like him at first but his voice isn't that great compared to some of the others. I don't like James either since I never really liked hard rock and heavy metal is really terrible to me. My fav so far is still Scotty, he's great. Oh well, we shall see what happens tonight.

Well I guess he is just so confident in his singing abilities, because he really can sing. I dunno, I used to be obsessed with him but I've been waiting to hear a rock and roll or a rock song from him, because I think with his vocal range it will be beautiful, freddie mercury like..
But, I realized that's not gonna happen, he even said he's not a rock and roll kind of guy...he's all about gospel and r n b which is okay, but it's kind of typical and boring, and I'm still craving his voice singing a rock song So I'm not rooting for him anymore, it's either Casey or James for me now..

There's certainly nothing wrong with having confidence. But when you think that no one will vote for you cuz they can't judge themselves without any prejudice instead of being based on your singing abilities, well, that's just arrogance IMO.

Jacob reminds me of that one guy from back in the beginning who didn't want that chubby little 15 year old boy on his "team" during group week because he didn't think the kid would be able to "offer" anything to his group. Another arrogant, self-serving twit IMO. That guy could sing, but his attitude totally turned me off!

Which brings me to why I love James so much: He wears his heart on his sleeve, and is so "real" and down to earth. He's just a sweetheart all the way around.

Aw, I like Paul. I like his singing too given the right song, which he didn't seem to be too good at picking usually. I've gone onto youtube and listened to some of his pre-idol stuff with his band and it was good. I didn't want him to win, but I did want him to stick around longer than Jacob and Stefano.
