Stereotypes are pervasive by definition, so they're more likely to be the very first thing to pop into someone's head.

Scared ...................

Most ferals are stray cats with feral tendencies. With all the years working with them, my first thought that comes to me with the word feral is misunderstood.

Definitely that

Hungry and frightened. Ferals break my heart, even though many of the feral colonies here are well managed and we have some of the chubbiest ones I have ever seen.

Check its ears to see if its tipped otherwiseget out trap and call vet....

seriously tho, I think dumped cat who was a pet or only a generation away from being inside. Ones I have encountered thats about most of them-dumped pets gone wild and reproducing

I think of my Bella.... and the ferals I have helped over the yrs.

W/o vet care sometimes they aren't in the greatest health.

Heartache, lonely, hungry, never secure, always looking over their shoulder and never knowing what love is and to be cared for. Everything a cat should never be...
