I don't do anything really. Just stay home with my family
And of course feeding calves that day
I don't get Christmas off even

Also eating way to many chips because I won't be able to have any for another year (or if I choose too, ever have them again). Yes, I do New Year's Resolutions. Last year I decided to give up drinking any pop, this year I'm gonna give up eating chips. Now that's going to be fun...

I'm 47 - no - 46 - and the last New Year's "celebration" I even remember going to/participating in was in India in... that would have been 1984 into 1985 new year. The only reason I did that is because I was in a foreign country and it was the whole "cultural" thing. Before that, the last party I went to was in high school.

I never had many friends - usually just 1 or 2 very close friends. And we were scattered all over the world after our first year in college, and my BF from high school had moved out West... I think I was always kind of a loner, because I never minded being alone or felt like I was missing out on anything.

...and to think - I had no cats then!

I am on my own too, as I have been for 15 years now. My daughter is off skiing, after spending 3 days with me over Christmas and all the rest of my family are in the UK. Here, I was invited to go over to some friends but I hate driving at night and anyway we are expecting more snow and I have already had to be dug out once by a friendly tractor! And of course, if you drive out you can't drink, and although I drink very little I feel stupid watching everyone else get plastered. I am much happier here with my cats, a log fire and several good books. So to all of you in the same situation, relax, think over the goods and bads of the last year and think about how to make 2010 work for you in positive ways.

I'm on my own, and I am married with 2 kids

I don't mind it really.... I mean, whats the big deal about being alone on Dec. 31 anyways? Like someone already posted, its just a date....the year changes. Some people get drunk and make butts of themselves, some spend it quietly at home with loved ones (fur or non-furred), some take the time to reflect..... really I think the whole thing is used as an excuse to "party" which I don't buy..... I can party any night of the year if I so chose.

My one daughter is at her fathers. My other one and hubby are at a friends house party. I'm home. I'm not sad. I'm not happy. I'm in the same mood I was yesterday..... sick and tired of being sick and tired LOL.

Its just another day IMO.

The only "tradition" I had was that my boyfriend and I would make a nice dinner and stay in for the night. Now that he and I have split, I'm home with my "kids" which is just fine with me. I am optimistic for a much happier 2010 for all TCS members!

Me, neither, I never learned to like the taste of alcohol. I like being alone with my 2 cats!

It is just DH and I tonight. He is reading and I am here online and also reading. I don't even think I am going to make it to midnight. I am so sleepy and there is over 2 hours to go.

The last party I went to was 2 years ago. I do not like crowds and we do not drink anymore, so I have no interest in going out with the drunks.

It's just DH and I here tonight, too. We went to dinner and a movie earlier, now I'm online and he's watching an old movie. Tailer's not feeling well, so mostly we're worrying about him and trying to get him to eat something. We'll probably stick it out the two minutes until midnight, then head to bed.

Looks as though I'll be asleep before midnight with any luck. I'm exhausted and have a headache, and it's just another day as far as I'm concerned
